FINALLY, a camp site . . . with a "cool" blazing fire at dusk !
More please . . .
I'm not much of a fly fisherman as I have no gear (though I have gone before). I usually fish the lakes/reservoirs here in CO using a regular ol' spinning reel and some powerbait (the play-doh looking stuff works wonders).

I bet you could have been fairly successful with a fly rod though, in this area, which is where the stream we camped next to sort of flattens out and slows down:

In this pic, if you look closely you can see a trout in that same area:

Here is a little further down from that meandering stream area:

Which video / vehicle was that?

Did they go up to the Wild Irishman mine?

Tire Pressure isn't really affected. Some people air down their tires when going off-road, to get more traction and to smooth out the bumps. I don't, because I don't have a way to fill them back up after I'm done on the trail.

The Apt. lease ends the end of April '17 and after putting the "goods" in Temp Control Storage, I head out "Overlanding" wherever the "less-travelled" backroads take me ! That is in the direction of Colorado from Washington State ! I don't plan on returning till perhaps October! In the back of my mind is a possible move out of WA., but the journey is all about getting OUT and enjoying Nature - fly fishing my ass off and birding, camping during the week and Motel-ing it on weekends. To get the past weeks grime off me, and the G.C. !
When the time comes I may pursue some of the other websites to offer-up a "lets-get-together" for a few days . . . !
I've lived in CO the last 5+ years, but I'm originally from Michigan (which is why I was asking ItalianJeeper so many questions, plus we both went to Michigan State University).

Colorado has a ton of trails that you could tackle, and make a hell of a trip. Use that trail-damage link I provided above to get an idea of all the different trails. There are many that you can tackle with a WK2. There are many that you could plan ahead of time so that you are "overlanding" and try to stay off of pavement as much as possible, while seeing some things that not everyone gets to see (because they never leave pavement). There are many that you could use to get to different rivers/streams or alpine lakes, to go fishing.

Let me know if you have any questions

It was Lake Superior! We were in Munising, MI which is where the Pictured Rocks lakeshore is. I highly recommend it as it was beautiful to see!

Cheers!

Nothing really hardcore, but I did a trip with a few fellow Jeepers. We did the border track in South Australia, and it's mostly a sandy two track with some mud ruts to play in towards the end. We were a collection of Jeeps, WJ, WH(WK), WK(WK2), XJ, JK and JKU. Here's a few photos.

with a ?-Mark in it ! So I can't admire ! BUT, at tflcar.com you can scroll down on the 1st page to the title '. . . GOLD MINE HUNTING !' Picture of the new Wrangler that they are "using/abusing" these days !

Yes, the advice is welcome, and I have been gathering "intel" from Trail-Damage, as well as other sites including Colorado's own dot-gov stuff !

ps/edit - Another Michigander eh ! I am not but I once stayed at a "Holiday Inn Express" there ! Not !

Did a Number of fly fishing trips for years in the Baldwin area - yes, there ARE many Great Rivers to choose from.
This was back in the years -?- 1994 - 2003 ! Saved up 'Leave'-time (Navy) and took 2 & 3 week vacations to that area ! Not sure why I never went up to the U.P., but looks like I may have to "plan" something before too much time slips away, Can you try those Pics again ?

And Cheers to you ! Broke out the atlas and then the Google and Zoom-in mode ! Yea, very Picturesque Indeed, I bet the Sunsets (especially on a Full Moon) would make for some terrific "mug-shots" - hint !
Grand Island seems to be beaconing for a boat ride over ! Close to College Town - Marquette ! Yup, perhaps a new trip agenda thru Minnesota and Wisconsin to the U.P. is just what the Doctor should order ! Question is, before, after, or as part of the Colorado "Overland-Swan-Journey"? !

J33PSTER - I like that name, familiar, yet not. Thank You, my new Aussie friend ! IF you Refer back to My Initial Thread Post for "Show & Tell . . ." you'll see that THIS Thread Isn't about 'HardCore' off road stuff. More to the liking of a Journey to Somewhere, and the PICS at the Destination ! ! ! This is more about the People and the Places they take their WK2's that not many "others" go to ! You know, just a bit further off the beaten track - perhaps Trails rated as high as 4 or 5 on the ' TRAILDAMAGE.COM ' scale of things Jeep !
Honestly, it's become sort of a "Beacon of Light," an inspiration, for Me, and I hope for others to get out in the BackCountry and enjoy the time spent their - fishing (fly fishing is my passion), Camping, roasting marshmallows over hot coals or putting a "hotdog" on a stick over an open flame . . . see ?
SO, those "Memory Shots" (pics) are what make THIS Thread "different" from the rest, especially from a 'JEEP GARAGE' standpoint, I think ! BUT, it seems to be working and folks are returning now & then "To Share" in Their Fun-Times - of course as we say here, "No Pics, then it Didn't Happen!"!

I do hope, I really do, that soon I shall be up and about in My New 2016 trail-rated 75th Aniv. Laredo (Recon Green & freshly de-badged, except for the Anniversary badge ! Once I start posting, probably near impossible to stop . Once again thank you . . . and to all else for my "rambling mouth ways" !

Oops, forgot to ask J33Pster - yea, that older Cherokee seems to be in "dire Straits" !
But also, It carries (apparently) the Important RoofTop Tent ! Which leads me to ask - Where did you Camp, and yes, "no pics, didn't happen?".

These are Early pics (had it about 2 weeks?) of the "Recon-izer;" what I've come to "affectionately" call my G.C. in the awesome Recon Green - the only true 75th Anniversary color ! Posted originally on the "original" 2016 75th anniversary thread (post # 301).

Sorry, darn it but here it is a new day, I'm fully logged in and those pictures do not come up as "thumbnails," but rather just as little tiny squares with a blue center and a question mark dead center ! ? Never had this "issue" before !
Nowhere else on the site do I see this "issue" ! ? SO, unless someone can figure it out . . . I am sad that I can't enjoy them too ! ?
Hmmm . . . can't be an Apple / Android thing, could it ? My computer is an Apple Mac Mini hooked up to a Large Screen HDTV. AS a side note this combo is AWESOME, as I get to sit back 10 feet away from the TV and do the Internet TV watching & web browsing, like I am doing right now as I type this ! ! !
