Associate at the store actually steered SWMBO
away from buying the very expensive KitchenAid pasta attachment if we were not going to make A LOT of it. She said it was much more practical for small batches to be done with a simple, hand-operated press. In hindsight, I agree with her. The only thing you lose is the ability do do "extruded" pasta shapes which I can live with since my interest is in fresh flat pasta and things like ravioli and tortelini. But yea, our 6 qt KitchenAid mixer kicks butt in so many ways!
