Great looking pups. What breed are they? Or just mutts? Nice looking regardless.

They dont maul toddlers. I cant trust them with sheep and even fully trained I dont fully trust them with sheep. So please drop your PR campaign that Pits are just like any other dog. They dont think like a Retriever and they sure as hell dont have a soft mouth like a retriever. When one of my dogs bites a sheep or grips it releases immediately. Pits dont. My dog will bite a sheep that is challenging it and wants to hurt my dog. THey need to enforce they are in charge. The wounds from a bite of herding dog are no way as severe and damaging as a bite from a pit. My friends who have been training and working herding dogs for over 30 years have the same opinion of pits. One of them looks at their dog cross eyed and its dead.

I train herding dogs, work herding trials, trial, and work sheep. This Sunday we were out helping a friend move her 100 ewes and approx young lambs. She has Border Collies and I have collies. My 2yo boy needs the experience moving large flocks and working with ewes and their lambs. She had to shoot a couple of pits that wondered onto her farm and started acting aggressively towards her dogs on Thurs. Turns out neighbor down the road son moved back home with his dogs ie pits. She couldnt afford to have her dogs put out of commission or lose lambs or ewes.

Pits arent like other dogs and combining them with young male owners w/o a lot of dog sense and training experience isnt a good combination. You ll just dont have the experience in training dogs. And I am willing to bet some of you chose a pit because of the pit's image as a tough dog that can kill.
No, pit bulls are exactly like a bunch of other dogs. They just happen to be the favorite for the dumb, tough guy crowd and therefore have the misfortune of ending up in the hands of morons that train them to do stupid things. Just like in prior generations you had that spot filled by German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans, etc. The Netherlands used to ban Pit Bulls but recently overturned the ban after several years on the grounds that it had no effect on dog bites or deaths from dogs. The tough guy crowd just substituted them with other dogs. I can list a few dozen dogs that would serve the task better than a pit bull (pit bulls are medium sized dogs and not naturally human aggressive. Something like a Caucasian Shepherd, on the other hand...).

Anyway, most pit bulls I see around me are rescues owned by yuppies. They're doing God's work. When I was younger and had more time I used to assist in those efforts. Anyway, I have to upload pics of my dog - a huge rescued Great Pyrenees. I had a pit bull/rottweiler rescue before her. Ask anyone that knew both who had the sweeter temperament. I love my current dog to pieces but whereas my last dog was known as a sweetheart by everyone, the current one scares half the neighborhood.

Gryffin is a Goldendoodle and Huxley is a Labradoodle. Thanks, I always thought they looked great but I suppose I'm somewhat bias.
