Giving them the benefit of the doubt -- I assume they must still be a pretty good dealer with that many reviews (2,000) and a 100% rating. But yeah I'll probably pass as they are a couple of states away from me.
Those reviews are suspicious to me. I would suspect they have incentivised their customers into writing them and they seem shady enough to me that they probably have non-disparagement agreement.
If 2 thousand people said they hated the dealership that would've been more believable. Had it been a brand that actually cares about the car buying experience then maybe. But cmon, a jeep dealer, 2k straight positive reviews. Even the good ones wouldn't be so highly reviewed.
I have actually received surveys from my local dealer after having my GC in for warranty work. The instructions told me if I rated them a 10 on every question, they would provide me with a free oil change and tire rotation. I'm not saying this is the case here but things like this make me go "hmmmm".
ROFLOL: I live in Michigan and just picked up the latest free booklet of autos for sale at my local Wally World. Surprise, surprise Shuman has just awarded itself "Dealer of the Year" for the third year in a row. The interesting thing about this is that no other dealer in Michigan knows anything about this award and nobody knows anybody who voted on it. Chrysler definitely did not pick them as dealer of the year. If Chrysler had anything to say about a Michigan dealer of the year they would have more than likely picked Golling as that is where Chrysler does its new model introductions for Michigan and it is just down the street from Chrysler's world headquarters. As far as I know the only dealer award Chrysler gives out in Michigan is if a dealer qualifies for 5 star dealer status.
When I was looking for my ram I was told to go to Golling. I already had a quote on a lease for one from 3 different dealers. I told him what the price was and his response was "I haven't leased one that cheap in years!". They wanted over $400 per month when I ended up going to parkway and getting one for $300 per month with $1k of negative equity, that wasn't even mentioned for the quote at Golling. I ended up being screwed over in the long haul at parkway but for that particular truck I got a good deal.
I have. Purchased my 2011 Durango Citadel for $35,000 out the door. Granted it was a remaining 2011 that sat for a year but MSRP was $48,000+ so I walked out well. Didn't have too big of an issue surprisingly.
What other's said, the "Employee Price" is a fairly common dealership sham.
As far as purchasing from Shuman, that's where my Jeep came from. I got what I felt was a great deal. The salesman was great. The price was better than any other dealer in the area. I'm not too impressed with their service department beyond oil changes, but coming from owning GM products, I have yet to be satisfied by any Jeep service department.
I can't speak for Golling sales, but my Jeep and myself were treated poorly by their collision department. They caused extra damage to my Jeep in the process of repairing it, that took extra visits to get corrected.
