Single rubber strip on hood

While inspecting the new Jeep I notice the hood only had one strip. We checked another one near by and it only had one as well which seemed strange but normal. The only difference I can see is a lump above the headlight. Is it reversed on the RHD versions?

Extra lump above the blinker.

Re: Single rubber strip on hood

I wonder if it has something to do with the air intake?

Take a look at this thread. Missing a rubber seal under the hood?

Re: Single rubber strip on hood

The single strip is correct...I asked about it when I took delivery a year ago.

I went as far as carrying my JGC in to the dealer and was told this is the way it was designed. The service manager said the first one he saw like this he ordered another rubber strip and when it arrived, he found out it was the same piece. He told me he then called and that was when he learned that it should be this way.

I think I'm missing something - what looks out of place?

There are holes in the hood for the other side that is thought to be missing.
The parts department books state "Only one side"
