Anyone get the Jeep Celebration Event flyer? If you do look on page 2(the interior shot of a Summit) Dark wood steering wheel.

Re: Sit-Rep.. 2012 Summit Steering Wheels

The point about quality is superior in Brand X or is relative, is true. However, it's also a canard. The fact that we're purchasing automobiles in excess of $40k and receiving incorrect work is for lack of a nicer, more tactful word, GARBAGE.

My jeep is sitting at a dealership waiting for my return (I'll be back in the states when my deployment ends). It sure as $%^#j better be right. Otherwise I am going to burn down the phone lines, keyboards, and mailbox doors letting Fiat Chrysler know about their most recent folly!

Re: Sit-Rep.. 2012 Summit Steering Wheels

Does anyone have access to Chrysler part numbers? I guess 2011s have 3 different part numbers for steering wheels (I am guessing Summit, Overland, and all leather). Can someone locate the part number for the 2011 Summit wheel? That would be a huge help for me and my dealer.

Your '11 Overland Hemi doesn't have ELSD? What?! I asked about this in another thread, and was told if you have an overland 4x4 that the hemi package (ie Me) includes ELSD. What's the deal?

Sorry for the hijack? But why should I have to buy or request a build sheet to know for sure what Damn equipment came on my vehicle.

Last year, if you had a 4x4 version, the quadra drive II with ELSD was an option that came with the v8.
This year, it appears that it only comes via two packages on the overland model. The off road adventure II package or the summit package (both also require 4x4 and the v8).

In regards to the build sheet, this is something that is not typically provided when you buy a car. My invoice sticker (the thing posted on the window of the car) makes no mention of quadra drive or elsd...its only on the build sheet that i get confirmation that this is indeed on my vehicle. (It does list i have the off road adventure group II pgk, but that doesn't list out the elsd, etc). It's a pretty comprehensive list, coming in at about 4 pages long

Re: Sit-Rep.. 2012 Summit Steering Wheels

I see. Shame about the light colored wheels. I like the wood wheels, because I'm not so worried about making the leather look nasty if my hands are a little sweaty or a touch dirty. Thats always been an irk in my 2010 Camaro SS. However, I hope that whatever finish (plastic?) our wood wheels will prove to be durable, skin sweat/oil resistant, and not look like crap in 10 years.

My current '11 Overland Hemi does have ELSD, and in order to retain that feature on the '12 model, I have to order the Summit edition. (I don't want to order the ORA package because I want the 20" wheels.)

Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Mike

Re: Sit-Rep.. 2012 Summit Steering Wheels

Thanks Milous! I think the one listed for the 2012 might be the Overland one. I am guessing cause my dealer is sure they had the right part number and Jeep sent the Overland one.
