Skid Plates on Summit

For those of you who put skid plates on your summits. Did any of you leave the plastic/felt engine cover on and install your plat over that ? It looks like it should fit. I was thinking of doing this as it looks like the factory engine cover has some sound deading characteristic to it ?

Re: Skid Plates on Summit

The oem skid plates don't replace the plastic shield, nor do they cover it. From the factory the skid plates seem to be missing a few places. However, the only problem I read about with this setup is the unprotected def tank.
