Smartbeam Headlamps and the auto func for headlights

So
I want utilize the auto headlights on function feature with the headlamps. If I turn that on then when I come home the the headlights turn on momentarily when I park in the garage. Will this momentary on (when entering the garage) feature cause me any long term damage? Like this... I come home from work and the auto on is engaged, before I can park the Jeep the headlights come on momentarily. Is their damage with the headlights coming on for an instant?? Can I change the delay cycle???

Richl

Re: Smartbeam Headlamps and the auto func for headlights

I don't think it should, I had a 2008 JGC where I had the auto headlamps that would come on when I pulled into my garage for a second or two before I shut the Jeep off, did this for three years and nerver had a problem. Now my 2011 Overland does the same.

It's not a "flash". The lights are on for a number of seconds before turning off.

It's perfectly normal, and every HID equipped car with automatic lights does it when you pull into a dark garage.

It doesn't affect the newer HID's anymore. If you flash you brights on all newer cars it will flash the HID's not a halogen bulb. You are fine pulling in and out of the garage all you want.
