Damn man. I would think they could come off of it a lot more... I've been looking at a few Overlands in Phoenix, before I decided on a Summit, and I was finding them for around $44k with MSRP of $49,xxx. And they are 'new' 2015s. Then in Cali I'm seeing them discounted even more. I know you're in Florida but still...

I'm currently at the dealership and they have some 2014 and 2015 demo models they let their managers use. The one I'm looking at is an overland with 5k miles and comes with 48k mile/48 month bumper to bumper warranty. The add on are ACC and blind spot monitoring.

The initial offer from them was a price of 44,100 +TTL (roughly 47k+). The invoice on the vehicle was $44,600.
You should be able to get $500 off invoice on brand new. If your employer is not part a program, you can join something like Tread Lightly and Chrysler will guarantee 1% below invoice on most new Jeeps. I think they exclude the SRT which wouldn't be an issue for you.

You should look at a new car like buying a hotdog. That first bite isn't depreciation, it's just the amount you used. And just like the hotdog, it all comes out in the end.

Im actually in Texas now. I was looking into the 5.5% under invoice group buy they were doing here. Thats still an option but I think I can get a better deal on a lightly used one rather than a brand new one. Im not one for keeping cars for too long so the lower the MSRP the less likely ill be underwater when I sell.

Just found a GC in NC, NEW 2014 Overland 4x2 with ACC and blindspot plus tube side steps, online price of $40,672. Who knows what wacky way they got to that number, but if theyre willing to offer it I might be willing to buy it

Interesting. I didnt know DC was 7% below. Do you have a link to the thread? I tried searching for it but only came upon the one asking if people would be interested.

The dealership in NC ships for free up to 250 miles. Im sure I could work out a deal with them for the remainder. They are sending me the OTD numbers on it soon. Ill post it when it arrives

Search on "koons group buy" dc metro area group buy should be the first to pop up. They have sold over 300 2014-2015 GCs though it. Its a good deal i bought mine through it 2 years ago. Nader will send you an OTD cut sheet if you ask him

Re: Smarter to buy used 2014 or New 2014?

The Dealership in NC just sent me the OTD pricing.

2014 Jeep GC Overland.
White Exterior
Light Frost/Beige interior
Navigation
ACC
Blind Spot Monitoring
Tubular Side Steps

MSRP: $40,672
TTL: $2,754
Admin Fees: $599
Total: $44,026

Does that seem like a fair price to you? I know the invoice price of the regular model Overland 4x2 is $41,192. The invoice price of the Tech package is $1,776.

Is the $40k their selling price or the MSRP? How much did they come off?

Re: Smarter to buy used 2014 or New 2014?

The "huge hit when you drive it off the lot" usually only applies when you get raped on the deal and pay too much. If you search and find a good enough deal that issue is non existent. Just as an example I paid 39.6 + tax for my 2012 Overland V6 new from a local dealer. I sold it 1 yr later with 9,000 miles private party for literally that exact same price of 39.6. So all I was out was whatever dealer fees and taxes I paid. Get a good enough deal and it's never a problem.

The selling price of the vehicle is $40,672 + TTL. The original MSRP on window sticker is $47,625

Ive never driven a summit so im not entirely sure if its worth it. But if I can get a new 2014 Summit for the price of a Overland, id be stupid to not consider it

EDIT: I also just found a 2014 Summit used for sale with 29k miles for 39k+TTL. Are summits really worth it over the overland? I mean, are they that much more significant in terms of luxury? Im a huge fan of light frost beige interiors which isnt even available on the Summit
Take a trip out here to the NorCal Bay Area and snag this brand new Overland hold over from 2014:
