Re: Snow Capability?

You can also remove the lower valance/air dam on the front.

DIY - LOWER Air Dam Trim Removal (not the complete piece)

Re: Snow Capability?

Mine are at 41-42 lbs. Airing down a bit for snow can't hurt.

What size GY AT's are you running, are they on 20 inch or 18 inch wheels?

Thanks.

Good to know! Thanks!

And hey, we Californians like to have fun in the snow too, you know.

(Well, maybe not ALL of us Californians. Some of us who grew up in Upstate New York do.)

I've settled on 38 psi....at 34 you 'could hear the tread' a bit too much and now that I'm at 38....42 was a bit too stiff.

I'm thinking 38'll be a good all-around pressure.

If it ever dries up around here...I'm going to chalk-check them.

Re: Snow Capability?

Stock Forteras suck in the snow, no reflection on 2015 Summit performance. Definitely the first mod is going to be Duratracs..

I find them pretty decent on dry Wintry conditions and even on a few inches of powder and soft snow. However they are quite terrible in icy conditions- it feels as if you are gliding on the road with little grip. The steering wheel also develops a life of its own in these conditions. Fortunately these cases are far less common, and generally careful and experienced driving can keep you out of trouble even with the GYs.

Re: Snow Capability?

Being in Kansas City, MO it was more rain/sleet/ice than snow.. The JGC has differnt driving dynamics (more graceful) than the Raptor's brute force..

Are you having any fitment issues with 275-55 tire? Any rubbing or turn radius issues? Any pics? Im thinking of moving to that tire size, seems to be cheaper than the 265-50-20
