Snow day

So, I'm just gonna put out there. Possible 1 to 2 feet on Saturday and I'm thinking snow run.

I live in lower Manhattan !

Re: Snow day

Greetings,

Hopefully, if the snow does pile up, will our Gov and Mayor let us children out to play with our toys?

Last time they put the brakes on us over nothing.

Best for now.

Queens here, I live on a hill that's too narrow for a garbage truck plow to get here, we have to wait for pick up truck plow which usually gets here just before snow and 2 days after when it's too late.

Greetings,

That's Sanitation for you. A few people spoil it for everybody and it is not the operators on the equipment.

Best for now.

Re: Snow day

1-2 Feet? I hope you have snow shoes. Either way as fun as that sounds I don't think you'll have as much fun as you think in those conditions.

Re: Snow day

Heavy snow fall and urban areas presents challenges beyond what those of us in more urban and suburban areas face...like where to actually put the snow and the snow removal problem that comes with on-street parking. I don't envy you folks in the cities for that!

Personally, however, I'm with Robert. I could do without the snow. It was fun when I was a kid. Now...not so much.

Planning in Queens has always been the worst. I worked there for years and I'm pretty sure it is the only place in N.Y. (or anywhere) where you could find a "Dead End", "One Way", residential street.

Re: Snow day

You NYC guys still have time to reposition yourselves to DC where it appears they are going get REALLY dumped on.

Snow day

NYC is supposed to only see 6-12" now and the same goes for here on the Island. But who the hell knows, these guys can barely get temperatures correct let alone snow total amounts 3 days in advance.

Either way should be fun playing with the Jeep in the snow.

I feel for you guys in MD and DC. Its gonna be a total shit show down there!!

Yes!!, we also have 25th street, 25th ave, 25th place, 25th road all in one borough, and by the way Queens consists of so many parts like, Glendale, Middle Village, Forest Hills and so on, not like Brooklyn which is just plain Brooklyn.
