So I bought a Salvage GC Laredo-E!

I've been looking for a Jeep for awhile and finally found What I thought I was looking for. Nothing is ever as easy as it would seem and I'm okay with that, I did get a great deal. I've been trying to do as much reading on here as I can, and there is a ton of great information.

Some background of the car: 2014 Blue Pearl 33,000 miles, only damage was on the front end, needs front bumper/ core support, driver side fender, headlights and a hood. The rest of the car looks great and the bags were in tact.

First question! What is the name of the part under the headlight, with the honeycomb look to it?

As it sits right now...

If have not been to this site yet you may find it useful WK2Jeeps.com - 2011-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee menu page

When you say the bags are intact, do you mean they did not go off when the impact occurred?

I'd be a little worried if that's the case - that looks like a pretty healthy amount of damage to the front end for the bags not to have deployed, if it's from an accident. I'd be wondering how the car impacted and what other damage there was.

Then again, my wife t-boned someone in my old Cherokee and the bags didn't go. $7,000 in damage, had to replace everything on the front end plus a fender.

I believe that your "honeycomb/headlamp bracket" is just that - a bracket that provides locators and clips for the fascia when it is mounted with the headlamp.

Try these:

BRACKET,Fascia Left: 68223469AA
BRACKET,Fascia Right: 68223470AA

Yes, the bags were not deployed. I should have taken pictures before taking the front end off, but the damage is not tooo extensive. I am going to have it put on a frame rack just to be sure that everything is straight before I start to re-assemble. It got popped in front of the pass. headlight at maybe a 10-15 degree angle. Broke both plastic core support brackets which twisted a lot of the core support. The bumper cover and everything surprisingly looked okay, but still needs to be replaced.

Once repaired, it will be great working on this thing- everything just pops together!

You seem to be very enthusiastic about this...as I was 15 years ago with my Audi A4 which ended up costing me almost 12K to repair. After that lesson of buying salvage cars I decided to never do it again. Not saying to put a negative light your Jeep just wanted to shed some reality that once you put it back together things might not work as before.
Good luck and keep us posted on your project, hopefully its just the plastics that need to be replaced and not the frame.

This will be my 3rd salvage rebuild, so I fully expect to run into some issues, I've got the whole front end off already and it will be going to the frame shop the check for any issues towards the end of the week. I REALLY hope there is nothing major, but based on what I can see It could possibly need a little pulling on one end, but like you said hopefully it is mostly just the plastics. I don't take your input as negative in any way, but I do appreciate the insight you have!

The other cars I did both needed clips, so I am 99.9% sure I will not need to clip this, which is good news

I'll try to post some pictures as I progress. As far as a painting goes, I plan to paint the lower bumpers and fender flares all the way around, which will make it a bit closer to an Altitude I suppose (even though I don't think they made a blue Altitude).
