This weekend I locked up a deal on a leftover / untitled 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with the Hemi V8 and less than 200 miles on the odometer for only $40,000... down from an original sticker price of $57,000! Since it books for about $3,000 more we went ahead and threw the lifetime maximum care warranty on it for about $2,700. In the end, we're getting a truly like-new Grand Cherokee Summit with a lifetime warranty on basically everything warranties cover for only $42,700. It even still smells like new! I really, really wanted to get the more fuel efficient diesel version, but I think that the savings on this deal will mostly make up for the difference in fuel economy over the life of us owning the vehicle vs. buying a similar more expensive diesel version (which appear to be going for $44,000 - $46,000 right now with several thousand miles of use on them). I was also FLOORED that I was able to get 22 MPG on the highway; my wife and I are ECSTATIC with this thing! The bells and whistles are CRAZY... what an amazing machine!
Re: So I think I got the deal of the century on a "new" Grand Cherokee Summit
Thanks! My 5' 2" wife is loving how the car automatically lowers, the steering wheel goes up, and the seat drops down / back to help her get out of / into the car. It has some really cool features!

But! Does a 2015 Summit have Blind spot monitor, lane departure steering, radar cruise, panic collision braking and self parking? This is one reason why I replaced my 2015 4 Runner for all these things. My daughters 2015 SRT doesn't have them all. The 2018's will have more features most likely.

Thats a hell of a deal. You basically got a fully loaded V8 Summit for the same price I paid on my '15 overland V6. Be damn happy with your purchase. Great find

Good deal for sure, plus you don't have to deal with the hideous/busy rims they threw on the '17 Summit. Good looking car, always loved the summit and you got one at the same price as a limited with very few options.

The self parking is no joke. It works really good and is super easy to use. A large number of drivers need this. It's a game changer for them. The early version that came out in 2007 Lexus LS460 was unusable but it really works sweet in 2017 cars that have it. If someone doesn't need it it's just like any other feature on a car that never gets used.

If there are two parking spaces, Bzzt you can't use it.
If your too far out Bzzt.
If your too close Bzzt.
If the single spot is too long Bzzt.
If you went a little to past the spot Bzzt.
If the parking spot is on the drivers side Bzzt.
If it does like the vehicles in adjacent spots, like a Motor Cycle or a panel truck Bzzt.
If your driving too fast Bzzt.
I feel like I'm playing a video game and I won a prize when it does work.
It's too fussy on what parking spots will work.
If you can make it work consistently, then you don't need it.
Try taking a poll. I'll bet 5% or less folks think it's useful.

One of the great things about our JGC is we have had a lot of great features for 3 yrs already that some models are just now adding to their product line, safety and convenience wise... It hasn't been totally without problems but once you've had these things, it s hard to do without them......

Agreed. This is one of the things that actually made me nervous about getting the Summit. I'd usually NEVER be able to afford to buy one of these things, but I found a crazy good deal. NOW we're going to get used to all of the bells and whistles and the next time we need a new car it's going to be trouble... expensive, expensive trouble LOL.

I don't see anything wrong with comparing to what other automakers have been putting in their cars but name an American brand that has surround view cameras. The Escalade is suppose to be getting it for 2018.
Re: So I think I got the deal of the century on a "new" Grand Cherokee Summit
Excellent deal! Definitely NOT worth anywhere near the extr $$$ for lane departure warning and self parking. You have the most important tech, Adaptive Cruise, blind spot monitoring, and parking sensors.
Re: So I think I got the deal of the century on a "new" Grand Cherokee Summit
My FX35 had all around cameras and it was great because of the weird shape of the vehicle, I also have them on my X5 and used them 3 times as they are useless for a car thats easy to navigate I have a feeling the JGC wouldn't benefit a lot with 4 cameras just a good, clear rear camera setup should work.
