I've been pretty lucky with mine, nothing major. Last thing I want is to constantly have to run to the dealer for minor bugs in the software, or other things.

I guess you weren't swayed by the posts, so perhaps I'm worrying too much.

BTW: Totally agree about the look of the '14s. I wasn't big on the look at first, but it's growing on me. I really like the LED lights on the front... especially since I've replaced my DRL bulbs about 6 times so far in three years. I'm still trying to warm up to the look of the back however.
I don't regret my decision one bit. I still love driving my GC around whenever I get a chance. Of course, being on a jeep forum you're going to see tons of complaints and new jeep issues, but I have 8000 miles on mine now and not a single issue.

Re: So I traded in my 2012 overland...

There has been a lot of talk about problems. There have not been many major problems. Almost everything has been fixed with just software updates.

The only problem I had that was not ultimately software related was a bad wheel bearing. I don't think that had anything to do with it being a '14, or a Jeep.

The most common complaint that you seem to hear is "I was inconvenienced", and you hear it over and over from a small group of people.

I'm not saying that there aren't some folks who had serious problems and were rightfully pissed off by the way Jeep dragged their feet on the buy backs.

If I hadn't already bought my GC, I wouldn't hesitate buying one today.

Traded in my beautiful 2012 hemi summit for a 2014.5 black/black overland diesel! Love the diesel and the mileage. I don't find a great power change but maybe that's due to the new 8 speed trans.

Anyway, enjoy your choice! I know I do!

Re: So I traded in my 2012 overland...

Update to my earlier post in the thread..
I did the exact same thing as well!!..
Traded in 2012 Overland for 2014 Limited..!
Dealer washed me out of last yr of payments, & put me into the 2014 for nothing!

Rolled into a Maximun Steel Limited (I too didn't need the trims offered in my original Overland> wood steering wheel, Quadra Lift, ventilated seats, leather dash, etc), and got a lower payment to boot!

The only thing I wanted was HID's, so I ordered them from Xenon Depot.

I paid NO inceptions! 1st month was included, no security deposit, no tag fees, no transfer fees, no dealer fee, no doc fee, NOTHING! I literally signed & drove off!!

I just got a nice $500 check in the mail for my security deposit from the 2012!!!
All good! Really like the new Limited..!

Wasn't thrilled about the shifting or the throttle dip/lag so I ordered the Hypertech Interceptor harness.. What a difference! Car flys now, very spot on when you hit the gas, car jumps and shifts quick & crisp!

GL w/ yours!!

Liked the diesel just couldn't pay the cost would never recoup it by the time the new one comes out in a couple years

Count me in. Traded my 2012 Laredo v6 for 2014 SRT. Talk about power upgrade. Best decision ever.

Sad but true story, I did the exact same thing......twice!

Once in 2010 and again with a 2012.

Re: So I traded in my 2012 overland...

Hey, I'm in this group as well. Traded my 2012 Laredo V6 for a 2014 V8 Overland. It was all about the transmission for me. It always seemed like it was a gear behind where you wanted it to be. If you jumped in it, the 6 has enough power, it was during normal driving that it seemed the tranny would stay in too high a gear for too long when you asked for a bit of power. It was annoying enough that I decided to trade early. I opted for the V8 since the mileage on the 14 V8 isn't that different than the mileage on the 12 V6.

I couldn't be happier!
