As for underneath the jeep, there has been FULL size spare tires, I never once said anything about not being a donut or what not.

Like I said, now its about cost ratio, Why put a 500 dollar rim under the truck, when they can easily put a boring black wheel.

Its about cost my friends, anyone who denies that is on crack

I will probably take the spare out of it for more storage anyway. I haven't needed a spare tire in more than 10 years. (...runs to go find some wood to knock on )

Who ever denied that options cost money?

My point was not that I felt ripped off, just that I would have liked a 5th wheel as a spare. I would have gladly paid a few hundred extra dollars in the grand scheme of things for that convenience. It was fantastic driving around for a month with a flat tire in the trunk not having to plan my life around finding the nearest tire store or overpaying.

X3, if one really has to have a matching fifth wheel and tire go buy 'em. Solved with same outcome in dollars though it spares the rest of us from the outlay.

There is a spare, regardless of size, it is tested to work incase of a flat tire.

Like the other members have said, there is no issue here.

i have a full size matching spare under my jeep. i could care less though because it only matched my crappy factory GY tires. a black rim would have been fine for me, i have never even had to use it.

Re: So...Rechargeable Flashlight + Xtra Storage = No Spare Rim?

My 2005 GC had a matching spare...I rotated it in when the tires were rotated which helped out when I ran over a nail and had to swap with the spare and get the nail hole patched (I think I averaged running over a nail/screw once every 2 years...a pain). By including the spare in the rotation seem to work well. With my non matching rim I am obviously not gonna do that ... no biggie either way.

Re: So...Rechargeable Flashlight + Xtra Storage = No Spare Rim?

It's nice to have a matching spare in case you get a flat in East Cowflop, Wyoming while trying to put on miles. Unless you don't mind doing 80 on unmatched tires. Even in built-up areas it can take a day to get the exact matching tire you need -- no fun while you're out of town on a trip.

Thing is, will a 20" stock tire and rim fit into the Overland's spare tire's well?

Not a big issue, but I did enjoy getting 120K miles out of my Michelin LTX M/S tires on my 2000 Durango with a 5 tire rotation.

Like the other members have said, there is no issue here.

Please re-read the thread (potentially multiple times) if you don't see the issue.

Once again you are not listening.

The spare tire is designed to get from point A to B so that you can FIX your broken tire.

Therefore, putting 500km on a tire for example, is not practical

There have been SEVERAL MILLION people who have been able to use spare tires properly, Im going to assume, you are just another WK2 owner, who cries because it doesn't suit YOUR needs.

Its a spare tire. For a reason. You drive on 4 tires. You don't need a matching factory 5th tire, unmatched or donut sized rims work, they are used for getting you far enough so you can fix your tire.

Stop complaining. Jeez you WK2 owners always want more more more, you are never happy.

dubwarren is a glorious beacon of light
I have a matching 5th. I think the cost was 2-3 hundred. Took a week to come in. Now I just have to have a tire put on it and drop it in the back. It is nice to have...

On another note, I was like wow when I first saw the crap wheel and tire in the back. I expected a matching wheel for 46k.

Call the dealer and order a wheel, judging from your posts, you'll enjoy having it more than I do.
