So...Rechargeable Flashlight + Xtra Storage = No Spare Rim?

I'm sure you have all figured it out by now... it took me a week of bliss before I started picking apart the Jeep to figure out how things worked. Inevitably I stumbled upon the convenient flashlight that even charges when not in use.. and I was happy to have the storage slots around the spare tire (i'm fine with it being in the trunk and not under the car btw)... but it's pretty obvious this all came at the expense of no 5th wheel. even the khumo tire they stuck on the starndard black rim is a cheapo.

i'm not too upset about it... it's hard to be upset with all the extras. my wife seems to be happier about the power liftgate than anything else on the vehicle lol... but i would have hoped for a 5th rim regardless on an overland at least. probably would have paid a few hundred extra too.

A spare is just that, a spare. It's there in case you get a flat. Now if you wanted a true 5th wheel, well you should of bought a Wrangler instead.

With all you guys with the 5.7L racing around like you say you are, there should be some wheels starting to show up junk yards soon!

My point exactly.

These spare tires under the vehicles are to get you from point A to B in an emergency. That is it.

They are not under there for an "extra add on"

Spoken like somebody that owns a spare.

Hmm... my '07 absolutely had a 5th wheel. I know because I changed it when a tire went down. Not sure how it ended up there but I didn't replace the flat for a month because the spare wheel fit right in...

Like I eluded to before... it's not as much about the money as it is the convenience of having a replacement rim at your fingertips.

The '02 Grand Cherokee Limited I traded in absolutely had a full size spare tire mounted on an aluminum rim that matched the four on the ground. Came in very handy when I curbed a rim - just swapped the spare with the dinged one.

Re: So...Rechargeable Flashlight + Xtra Storage = No Spare Rim?

I honestly do not understand why this is an issue.
