beautiful Anvil Rubi!

I did the same thing.

Traded this crappy shifting Jeep in

On this beauty. So nice having a vehicle that shifts gears properly!

Re: Sold the 2014, bought a 2014

I debated a long time between a Wrangler and a GC, ultimately I ended up with the GC since we needed the extra room on trips, etc. for family. The wife also mentioned the 'D' word if I got a wrangler LOL. How do you find them on long trips. I haven't heard great things, don't know if those are the older ones, but how do you find them on long hwy type trips. For me it was a space issue as well.

Re: Sold the 2014, bought a 2014

Man, I love the Wrangler as well, always have and always will......Wranglers just have a feel about them that the GC cannot replicate....in fact, very few if any vehicles can....BUT, the GC, between the luxurious, quiet interior, top-end tech and super smooth highway ride (that truck is a dream on long distance jaunts) would be a tough thing for me to pass up at this point in my life.....and my transmission (Hemi, so ZF sourced) is flawless, meaning it is far superior to the ancient (but adequate) 5-speed in the Wrangler.......for me, it's a clear trade down in all aspects other than off-road prowess.....they are two entirely different vehicles (I know I never cross-shopped them).....plus, the difference between the lighting provided by the HID's in my GC and the absolute crapola headlights in the Wrangler (quite literally a safety issue on dark rural roads) is a complete deal breaker......FC needs to address those Wrangler OEM headlamps pronto.....for me, the Wrangler is a GREAT second car, assuming one has the means to afford two.....but that doesn't mean for others, the Wrangler isn't perfectly acceptable as a DD, especially if you just have to have the radical off-road capability...........although interestingly enough, I would strongly argue that a QDII equipped GC is much safer in snowy conditions....that being said, I suspect if I was 20 years younger, I would probably be winging it in a Wrangler Unlimted Rubi....

The GC is definitely a smoother ride. Without a doubt. The wrangler is a totally different beast. I didn't cross shop the two models originally, had the GC since April 2013 and put 17k miles on it. Great ride.

I have had, literally, nine Jeeps before this wrangler. All grand cherokees and one cherokee. Wanted to change it up a bit this time.

Also, from the sound of it, I am probably 20 years younger.

The important point here is that I'm not leaving the Jeep family.

Oh, I also got the six speed manual. Very happy to be driving a stick again.

Like HeadShrinker mentioned above, the Grand is going to be a MUCH smoother ride. Extremely noticeable difference. Even going down smooth roads. Whether the Wrangler has a bad ride quality is all preference. Definitely test drive this and make the call.

I doubt that I will leave this forum, as I really enjoy all the lurking that I do.

This means that I now have a handful of very lightly used grand cherokee accessories, is there a for sale forum on here? Can I post those things in this thread?

...What would Freud say?...

Go to the dealer and test drive one. It's the only way to know for sure. They have a bouncy/rough ride compared to a GC. Some people like me don't mind where others it'd be a deal breaker. They are totally different vehicles.
