Yes, I have a K&N installed..and yes, I had a cover for the air filter inside the engine compartment, I wasnt sure how deep was the water going to be, some other trucks had snorkels but I dont want to have one installed as foor my daily use in town I dont like the look of it, so basically what I had done is something like a metal box enclosing the air cone, it had an opening in the back to get the air..so at least with that I knew if I made a wave the water shouldnt get in, I was aware that if my hood got completely under water I would be in trouble but I let the trucks with snorkels go before me so I can say there were some risks but minimized as much as possible.
We had a great time..and the GC still surprises me.

Thanks..but No, haha....not brave at all, there is always a truck ahead of me, I woouldnt go to the places I've been if I wouldnt have seen a truck in front of me do the same...I wish I could say I am the bravest.....but it would be a big lie, I enjoy a lot my trips but they are always guided, meaning there is a 4x4 who always go first...and then we go...but like I said before I wouldnt go to these places on my own, better to play it safe and be able to play it again.
Ive been married for almost 20 years so need to impress my wife !..:lol::lol:
Rgds
