Re: Something to laugh at

I also looked at the Explorer: Too long (3rd row seating), too tall, tiny sunroof (wanted Panoramic), and more expensive!

Never even considered the Escape. Can't remember if it was the engine or what....

Re: Something to laugh at

Only thing i like about the new explorer are the rims on the limited and sport... and the sport has that nice two tone black/pecan interior but... the leather and wheels are all i liked about it

Re: Something to laugh at

what does the Jeep do that the escape can't? 98% of the people on this board went with the pathetic v6 in the JGC and never drive more offroad than a gravel driveway, the escape gets better MPG and can traverse a driveway with the best of them. It is probably faster than the JGC with the v6 also.

Re: Something to laugh at

You can't compare the Escape to the GC. My daughter rented a 2013 Escape and I got a chance to drive it. It is much smaller than the GC and as a result has far less cargo capacity. The ride was quite harsh compared to the Overland. The pickup was slower than the GC and the Ford Sync system makes the RHR shine. To top it off, it looks more like a Kia than a Ford. I used to like the Escape.

It depends on if ones issue is telling the time accurately or exhibiting an impression of wealth.

Seriously? No comparing a Rolex and a seiko. On any level. Ever. Under any circumstances. Ever. Are we talking jeeps or watches? I love them both.

Haha...nope. the new escape has better 0-60 and 1/4 mile times than the Hemi.

Those numbers I see floating around for the v8 are not accurate. My 4x2 Altitude with the Hemi is close to the 15 second mark easily. Same with the posted 0-60 times I see.

Just like the "moose" test, you can't believe everything you read/see on the internet.

I'm not saying the hemi is slow as multiple reviews show it 7-7.5sec but the new escape is just as quick if not quicker, that's all. I'm sure the 2wd escape is faster then the AWD reported times as well. With that said, it's laughable to compare the two.

Re: Something to laugh at

I think it's hilarious when people on these boards say their 5.7 liter WK2 is better than the slow V6 because it's faster and lighter on it's feet, but then every other make that is faster than the Hemi WK2 is still a POS. LOL!!

Re: Something to laugh at

It's not that the Jeep is end all of SUV's but just annoying when people read and believe everything on the internet. If the Escape was a 13 sec 1/4 mile, I would still not buy it over a "slow" Hemi JC.
