Neither would I. The Grand Cherokee blows the Escape away on so many different levels, the speed part doesn't even really matter. Which is my point all around.

Maybe your workplace should drug test him or did he escape from a hospital for the insane!!!!

Re: Something to laugh at

Escapes are great. Ford gave me $75 a couple of years ago to test drive one. Last year GMC gave me $50 to test drive an Arcadia.

Jeep never gave me anything ... but a payment book.

Re: Something to laugh at

I'm thinking of adding this badge: 2 DODGE CHARGER CHALLENGER MAGNUM 5.7L HEMI ENGINE EMBLEMS BADGE BLACK PAIR | eBay I measured and it's almost exactly the same dimensions as the HEMI badge I already have on there.

What do you think? Add it or forget it?

Thanks!

I would not get the additional nameplate, remove the hemi nameplate currently on vehicle and also just get a plain generic license plate number. But it's your vehicle.

Thanks for your opinion. People seem to like that personalized plate I have though. That's what strangers, aquaintances, family and friends tell me.

Re: Something to laugh at

I'd remove the HEMI as well, IMO there's already too much with the overland and 4x4 emblems. I'm planning to leave either the 4x4 or overland on mine. If anything, I'd go with the overland on one side and the 5.7 only on the other. I'm not a big fan of the HEMI and 5.7 badges...they don't seem to fit with any jeep...they look out of place, IMO.

Re: Something to laugh at

I considered the Escape and the Explorer. Didn't need the 3rd row from the Explorer, but liked it overall. It's a very comfortable vehicle, but doesn't have the same "premium" feel that the Jeep does. Not to say it's poorly made or anything, it just feels like a very nice but ordinary SUV, where the Overland feels like a step up. If I had needed the 3rd row for any reason at all, I'd have picked it over the Durango for sure.

The Escape is small, really small. And frankly, it looks like a giant Focus. To some people that may be a good thing, but I wanted to see the Escape be a mini-Explorer, not an oversized Focus. Outside of that, it's a little "busy" inside, and simply doesn't make the nice gutteral noises the Hemi makes. If I drove a lot I could see the benefit to the little turbo mill, but I don't and I like the sound of a V8.

That said, the power liftgate opening with your foot is genius, and someone should have done this years ago and it should have been standard by now (so should setting the liftgate height like Touareg end Explorer allow).

Truth be told, I think if I were looking at a vehicle like Escape, I'd still end up with a Sportage, Journey, or Outlander. Sure the Escape has a few luxury items those don't (which is odd because the Journey is the successor to the Pacifica which had a power liftgate years ago), but honestly the Escape's styling just kills it for me.

Re: Something to laugh at

One neighbour had a 2010 4 banger escape and it took 9 months for dealer to sell it off lot when he traded it. Another neighbour has a stirpped down Tribute (same thing) 4 banger aswell. Those things sound like they red line when leaving the driveway. They are just econo boxes and nowhere near an Overland for comfort and styling. Some women think a red civic is nicer than a silver BMW. I guess you just nod and say to yourself, " these morons don't know shit".
