The "Otua" button is not on the MOPAR parts list.

To be fair, I can't state 100% that it shipped from the factory like this. When I had it in at the dealers a few weeks ago for that door light issue, it's entirely possible they removed the console/panel and then just put it back in wrong.

Having said that, I am not prepared to let the factory off regardless, since the reason the dealership might have had the door apart in the first place was because when the door was assembled a blue wire in the door was pinched by a bolt/screw. This killed the ambient glow light on that door. So had *that* problem been caught before it left the factory, the guys at my dealership would have been nowhere near the door.

There's enough blame to go around for this, including me for not catching it sooner.

The front collision warning sensor was DOA when we drove off the lot. I was getting the "clean sensor" warning, and the FCW OFF light was showing. Pulled over, took a look and I was able to wiggle the sensor with my finger. I took it in when I had the front passenger door light looked at and they determined it was a faulty sensor. Why it was loose, I don't know. It didn't look damaged, but it was definitely loose and apparently just re-seating it wasn't enough to fix the problem.

Gotta love the highly skilled workers at dealerships. Yet another perfect example of why I avoid dealerships as much as possible.

Re: Sometimes you just have to laugh...

You can fix this very easily yourself, just grasp the edges of the black trim piece with your fingertips and pry upwards. It will pop out then just rotate and drop it back in - No tools needed.

This part needs to be taken out to remove the door card so the dealer just popped it back in the wrong way while reinstalling.

Oh, I assume it's "no biggie" and probably dead simple for me to do. On the other hand, I didn't put it in wrong and I'm not going to risk some plastic part snapping off because I did it wrong. If I wasn't going to be going in any time soon I might do it myself, but since I'm going in anyway I'll have them do it. That way if there is any damage it's theirs to fix.

Calm down big boy... I was just stating a simple mistake. I would of fixed it myself. Maybe when you bring it back to the dealer they will deny it, and think YOU took the panel off and re-installed it wrong. So now they wont touch it. Then you HAVE to fix it yourself. Ever think of that ?

Prob a dealer mistake, I hope they remember to tighten the oil filter! and drain plug!

Mindless mistake, I could do the same thing myself, just being in a hurry. damn flat rate service....

Relax yourself... I wasn't criticizing your suggestion - just saying why I didn't want to go that route.

As for what COULD happen, sure they might think that one minute I was able to take out the panel, but put it back in wrong, and then suddenly forgot how to take out the panel and needed their help, but that doesn't make a lot of sense.

Sorry to bring up an old post but this is about the dumbest statement I've read in awhile... the last repair performed to this vehicle was that door, AND it takes all of about 3.756 seconds to swap it around, any dealer that would deny that that there was any possibility they made the mistake to the point where they wouldn't take that 3.756 seconds to keep this customer happy would not be in business. It is abundantly clear that people don't appreciate dealers or dealer techs and this is really stupid that it was missed on reassembly, but even "crappy" dealers are much better than this suggested possibility.
