Nope - old school sales tactics. Waste of my time. Will NEVER buy a vehicle from this dealer, ever. I will say the service department people were nice and good....had taken my old Jeep there 2-3 times, hence that is why I went there first about buying a new one. Two totally different experiences....service vs. sales. After my last visit about buying a vehicle in December 2010, I have never been back....I drive the distance to Arrigo for service now too. Arrigo will be the first place I go to buy my next one too.....

If you are affiliated with Hollywood Jeep, why wouldn't they want to do an order with the Tread Lightly discount? It is an ORDER, not even taking one off the lot??? They refused to take the Tread Lightly.

The other thing I noticed at Hollywood Jeep was that many vehicles had something like a Dealer MSRP......they take in the vehicle, put a pin stripe on it and add some sort of vehicle protectant or other low cost non-sense and really mark the price up. Apparently that is what they do to then give the appearance of a larger discount....basically dealing off the ridiculously high add-on's they did before putting the vehicle on the floor. I have never seen a dealer do that before..... It seems to me to be a tactic to take advantage of the poorly informed consumer set who then finances their vehicles. I'm an informed cash buyer so it was a total turn off to me.....and even a tad insulting.

I tried the Naples jeep and also noticed they added $1,000 to the MSRP and called it the "dealer price". I asked why the additional markup and was told "when the cars come off the delivery truck, we have to pop in some fuses and clean the car. That's why there's an additional charge". Interesting...I've never seen that before.

On the lease payment, they couldn't tell me what fees where included in the lease calculation but it was somewhere around $2,100. Never got a straight answer or a call back as I requested.

I'll give the other dealerships a shot and see what happens. Thanks to everyone for all the input. It's been very helpful.

Re: South Florida dealership...

^^^

South Florida is a strange land to buy vehicles. I have never experienced such shadiness before. Be careful and don't be in a rush. Good luck.

I know what you mean with that, I had to haggle hard and actually walked away at first with Hollywood. But they called back agreeing to my price. I made them pull the pin stripe and denied all their dealer options (which are crap). But other than that I got a great deal and it was a pleasant experience seeing as I got what I wanted.

Re: South Florida dealership...

^^^ Mine was simple. Place an order for one with Tread Lightly 1% under invoice (December 2010). Got the run around cr*p. So went elsewhere. An order walks in the door ... the simplest sale imaginable as I knew exactly what I wanted.....Summit in black 4x4 V8 (no DVD). Idiots. All they had to do was fill out a piece of paper and take my check to make $$$.

Contacted Arrigo......they said no problem, would be happy to do it, come on in!
