Angry Spark Plugs

I love the hemi engine but why in the world do they still use copper plugs with a 30k interval for changing them. I ordered a 2012 Overland with the 5.7 and I thought it would use platium plugs like the srt8. Especially since almost all auto makers use platium now. The jeep is advanced in many ways except for this one. Jeep needs to get with the program.

Re: Spark Plugs

I put iridium plugs in my 2005 Hemi. I figured they would last longer and better burn in the long run.

They use copper for a good reason. Copper is the most conductive. The HEMI is very sensitive and seriously depends on a good spark. Most who try iridiums had problems. You might get away with plantinums.

My iridiums have been in for close to a year with no problems. Let's hope it stays that way.

Re: Spark Plugs

This topic has been discussed at length in a previous post. Copper plugs cost much less to install. Champion has the 9055 Iridium plug available for the late model HEMI.
The Champion Iridiums have a 7 year, unlimited mileage warranty. Have them in mine and they'll be there for a long time.

Re: Spark Plugs

Had the plugs on my 2011 JGC 5.7 changed today @ 32000K. The O.E.M. plugs were p/n SPLZFR5C11,replaced with same. The info on the box said the center electrode is NICKEL. The plugs they took out were in perfect condition,no more 32000K plug changes for me.
