Re: Speeding Ticket

75+ mph is ticket land for most enforcement officers. Stay out of the left land and back it down a bit. You're mpg's will improve and your wallet will stay fuller.

I just got my Overland Hemi about 3 weeks ago. i love. I ordered the 9500ix as well. I keep radars in all of my cars (i have the beltronics sti's). This is my first escort radar, and i have to say its great. It tells your your speed, it stores speed carmera's, etc. The one thing that you'll notice with the 9500ix is that its alerting noise is annoying as h*ll, compared to my beltronics. But i rather hear that annoying sound than seeing a ticket in my hand.

Is anyone looking to install laser jammers by any chance?

Mongoose9400 is an unknown quantity at this point
9500ix. Enough said. Can't read enough good reviews about it. The same I use IMO and a year or so with it, it's an amazing detector. Saved me yesterday on a highway trip from some hiding LEO. I take the warnings seriously since they are.

Re: Speeding Ticket

Are you sure this isn't my thread I started in February? I got one for allegedly doing the same thing (well, 85). Never had a ticket (or stopped for that matter) in 30 years of driving. Then I purchased this vehicle and suddenly I got stopped not more than 4 months of ownership. Sigh.

Good luck on your ticket if you decide to fight it.

Has anyone had any success using this to add a detector via hardwiring instead of running the cord all the way through the paneling from the mirror to the box?

I hard wired in a beltronics to my old Silverado and had it placed by the mirror to accessory power like a other poster mentioned and loved that set up. However the main reason I took the liners apart was to add a rear view camera mirror abs ended up running both wires at the same time.

Does the mirror power on the WK2 run on accessory power? What are the colors of the power lines into the normal Laredo X mirror?

Re: Speeding Ticket

I have a Escort 9500ix and I love it! Specially in the city where red light cameras are rampant!

Right now I've got two Escort products in my vehicles--a 9500CI and a 9500ix. They work best for me because I'm in an urban area. Their GPS feature permits them to lock out nuisance signals, making the drive around here fairly peaceful. However, I've got two Valentines sitting on a bench and I'm often tempted to switch over to them for rural driving. They are noticeably better in sensitivity and the arrow/bogey counter function is invaluable. It's highly inaccurate to say that they've fallen behind technically; they continually upgrade the circuitry and software of the V1, though it looks exactly the same as it has for years.

If more of my driving time was in the country, I'd use the V1 all the time. However, Escort's products work well for me, in my particular situation.

Yea, i actually have my radar in the center console below the navigation with the little door closed and it still detects perfectly! In CT speed limits are 50-65 on the highway, its terrible, i usually travel between 70-85

Re: Speeding Ticket

IMO the redline is the best pure radar detector...it eliminates the gps feature which again IMO is a waste...I turn off the X and K bands as they are not utilized by cops, here in Cali anyways, and the redline has well over 2x the range my 9500ix had. The range continues to impress me...while very pricey it has paid for itself 10x over in the last year. Not going to lie I will not go less than 75-80 on the freeway (traffic and safety permitting) and for those stretches I roll 90-100 in open areas on the 10 and 210 freeways I can travel with confidence as the redline lets me know about any activity with ample time to do the double tap to 4th. I do not promote speeding but let's be honest the hemi doesn't really like 65 mph when there is open space...I know it told me

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

A radar detector has to have a clear line of sight to have maximum sensitivity. That is why you should mount it level and as high as possible to achieve the best warning range for radar.

By hiding it in the center console you are receiving late warnings at best; most likely missing most weak/long distance and instant-on shots.

Re: Speeding Ticket

Just to add to this, if there is no clear line of sight, you definitely won't get LIDAR alerts.
