Re: Speeding Ticket

Avoiding a ticket hint: Leave your cruise control set to "ON" and point to that when the officer comes to the window. Tell the officer that you had it set for the limit and can't imagine how it went over. Works for me. Worth a try.

Re: Speeding Ticket

If you want to find current unbiased information about radar detectors go to www.radardetectorforum.org

There are many good radar detectors and many bad radar detectors. Just because you buy a good radar detector doesn't mean that you are immune from getting a radar ticket. A radar detector is a tool, and you need to learn how to use it. Would any of you tell someone to go buy a Jeep and go drive it off road just like you drove your car on the road? Hey, a Jeep is the best off road vehicle. No, you would tell the noob to take it slow, and learn how to drive off road.

Correct. Nothing will save you from my LIDAR gun except a good eye and a swift brake foot.

Nope. Laser jammer will not work. Save your money.

Re: Speeding Ticket

I love my Escort 9500ix. It has saved my tail end so many times. That said, I generally drive 20kph (12mph) over the limit. That may or may not get me pulled over but not worth the chance. Quick tap on the brake & I'm good to go. I haven't been pulled over yet (touch wood). I do a lot of highway driving so I don't drive without it. I usually drive 10kph (6mph) over in town or the city where there's more enforcement.

A matte paintjob on a supersleek sports car makes it difficult to get a reading (although you can still the target license plate and headlights), but a laser jammer will do nothing for you. Our traffic unit has tested all the seized units and none of them do anything. Save your money and the risk of prosecution.

None of this crap works. My radar has POP mode. It pops on and off before your detector ever has a chance to get a read. And laser, forget about it.

It's funny how many people are pulling there detectors off their windshield when I walk up. Then they try to tell the judge there is no way I caught them because they had a detector/jammer. I find you guilty, go see the clerk for payment.

Speed and texting kills.

Re: Speeding Ticket

Tune in the satellite and set the cruise to 5 over, tap up twice to pass then back down, enjoy the scenery and, when possible, the companionship of your passengers.
