SRT roof rails on Overland

I have searched the forums for an answer with no clear concise answer. I want to order the SRT roof rails to replace the rails that come on the Overland. Can somebody please give me an answer as to whether this is a remove and replace operation. As some say it is some say you have to grind the rivet inserts for the rail to sit flush or some other modifications. I would appreciate an answer from someone who has done this without having to modify any parts to do the swap. I do know that the screws for the SRT rails are shorter than the screws for the stock rails. If that is all that needs to be changed out also to make this a seamless swapout please let me know. Thank you for any input on this matter.

Spend some time in this thread. Its a long read but lots of really good info. I know there have been a few guys that have done what your trying. Good luck.

Are you wanting to sell your original roof rails by chance? If so I would be interested.

Re: SRT roof rails on Overland

Thanks Joey for the reply. Yes I have read that entire thread which was of no real help as to what I'am trying to do. And I came away with very little information in regards to the swap. I'am hoping that there is a member here that has successfully done the SRT rail swap. Without resorting to any crazy modifications. I guess if this turns out to be more of a PITA than it is worth I will just leave the stock ones on. I will keep you posted Joey as to your inquiry about selling the stockers. As it all depends on a successful swap.
