There is good plastic and cheap plastic. CF is not needed. It does look nice, I agree, but the cost is pointless in that application.

So does anyone know how much an 2012 SRT 8 will cost? Base? Loaded? $52K?

Nobody knows exactly but initial estimates place it in the mid $40's. I imagine adaptive cruise and some other things will be options but if they can bring the base in at $45K these things will fly off the lots.

As for the CF and dash in general, maybe once they get their LEAN manufacturing and logistics sorted they will start allowing for optional dash treatments like Porsche and other high end SUV manufacturers. I'd love to see the option of a couple different woods, CF and brushed aluminum. Personally I would opt for the brushed aluminum to extend the theme of the center console and the vent openings.

Since these are pretty easy panels to make expect the aftermarket to step in, that's just my guess.

I was expecting great things. Sure, I need to see it in the tin, but wow.

It's not all bad, here are my FAVORITE things:

MECHANICS:
Fantastic engine
6/4-pot Brembo combo

EXTERIOR:
Hood (awesome)
Rear spoiler

INTERIOR:
Early 90s Audi carbon fiber/Alcantara interior. It worked then, works now.
"Track" selector
Seats

Disappointed, but buying it in black and getting some new wheels would the way I'd go.

Any exterior pics?

Re: SRT8 Monster Engine, Monster-ugly Styling

It would be nice if we could get the 6.4L motor in the standard Overland 4x4 as a stand-alone option.
