I love it and am running on green mode. Haven't tried red mode yet but will one of these days soon.

Re: Start/stop

One thing to note regarding SmartStopStart is that it is a memory device that remembers your ESS (and SPORT) settings between drives. It is not a permanent ESS disable device. Therefore, in cases were ESS might actually be desired by some drivers, like extended periods of stop and go driving, you can still turn the feature back on.

If I understand what you are looking for, most can be set using the buttons on the driver's door panel. Check your owner's manual.

I have scoured the manual....there are not settings to have things remain as they were the last time the Jeep was used. Completely randomly....the temp setting for both sides will be all the way up....or down..........the radio will be tuned to a different preset ( i am positive it is a different one than the one I was listening to when I parked as it is sometimes tuned to a station from Washington state that I do not get here at home).....and the seat once in a while decides to go to an awkward position ...even after repeated programming.
It going in for an oil change...they say they will check for updates.....ya....updates will fix it.

It sounds like your fob has been set and you never cancelled or reset it. So when you open the car with the fob it goes to the presets. My belief is a better understanding of your vehicle will fix it.

If you bought the car used you may be set to the prior owner's preferences. Try the other fob and see what happens.

From page 157 in the latest version of your manual:

NOTE: Your RKE transmitters can be unlinked to your memory settings by pressing the SET (S) button, and within 10 seconds, followed by pressing the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter.

That's good to know. I prefer it never be linked. It would drive me crazy.

Are they linked by default?

Is the "SET" the Cruise "Set"?

Three buttons on driver's door below arm rest.

Re: Start/stop

Everything has been reset, more than once!....and it is not anywhere even close to consistent or even remotely repeatable. Bought it new. Using the same fob...the one with the War Amps key tag.
Checked the seat presets....1 and two are almost the same.......only the seat-back recline is different.....push one....back leans back....2 and back leans forward....1 and back leans back. Once in a while it will be in a completely different position. It does not seem to move the steering wheel though.I do believe I will start calling my Jeep CASPER! Or maybe I will look up the names of the Gremlins from the movie..... Vegetable gremlin, as the brain on my Jeep seems to be in a vegetative state.

Cruise is off

Re: Start/stop

I want to encourage anyone interested to get on the waiting list. The waiting list customers will be offered units to purchase before this product goes on public sale. At this time it looks like waiting list customers will get modules in mid-late October.

Re: Start/stop

UPDATE - I've been running the SmartSmartStop device for a week now, and it's still operating as advertised. If you are annoyed by the ESS like I was, this may be your answer. So far it hasn't caused any issues.
