Steering sounds

My GC Summit with 23000 miles (2014) has started to make a rubbing sound when turning to the right at about 15-20 mph. Currently it is at the dealer for the most recent recalls and they can not duplicate the sound. I think the sound is getting more pronounced. The common factor here is only turning to the right and at some speed. They type of speed that you would typically take when turning into a side street that has a post speed of 45mph. Any similar concurrence?? South east TX weather just fyi

Thanks

Re: Steering sounds

I had a situation earlier this week where we had 3-4" of snow and I drove through 6-8" of standing water on the right side of the jeep. The "service 4 wheel drive system" displayed, but ultimately went away the next day once whatever had accumulated underneath had gone away.

Probably not a similar situation like you have in TX, but I thought it was worth mentioning

Good luck..

Re: Steering sounds

Reminds me of a case where a woman kept bringing her Hyundai back to her dealer complaining about an alignment issue.
try as they might, they could never satisfy the customer. Everything was to spec, and mechanically perfect.
Eventually, the chief mechanic asked to speak to the customer in person.
Once he saw her, he understood right away. He diplomatically asked her to sit in the car while they adjusted the alignment to compensate for her morbidly obese weight.

Re: Steering sounds

My 14 overland would always make a rubbing sound from the rear tire passenger side.....It was mostly intermittent at times with turning, but became constant....I found it was the rear brake disk guard rubbing the disk, had to physically bend it until I can take the wheel off...
