Removed the "Jeep" badge from the hood, installed clear bra, installed all skid plates, bought a 2nd set of wheels/tires from a '12 JKU and installed TPMS sensors.
Not gonna lie, I was totally not feeling the front end of the wk2 facelift at all till I saw that pic in your sig. That looks amazing...doesn't look so squinty with the darker colors.
Put new plates on, ordered Mgp calliper covers, waiting for Lenny to get back to me so I can order some spacers. Note to self, must stop spending I've only had the jeep three days.
Debating, I have no idea . Debadging on the other hand: run dental floss behind the emblem until it pulls off, then use a product like Goo Gone or rubbing alcohol to get the adhesive off. If it's cold outside, you may want to use a heat gun to make the glue a little easier to work with.
I have mopar slush mats and tinted the fronts to match the back windows... Debating still on doing the windshield. Def next is black emblems all round (2012 black altitude$
I have a 2012 Overland Brilliant Black Crystal with Light Frost Beige/Dark Frost Beige interior and 4x4 5.7L V8 Hemi
Mods in order performed:
1. Tinted front windows (35% - legal max in my State)
2. Clear Bra protection
3. Bosch Icon Wiper Blades
4. Mopar Bright Pedals
5. Weather Tech Beige Digital Fit Liners
6. Shark Fin Antenna
7. Clear Cover License Plate cover on rear
8. Brilliant Black Mirrors
9. HEMI Badge
10. Altitude Brilliant Black Rear Brow
11. Altitude Brilliant Black Grille (kept black inner mesh)
12. Gloss Black JEEP Vapor Hood Badge
Weathertech slushmats for front and rear. OEM Jeepcargo liner. Installed a factory hitch with an aftermarket 4 way trailer harness. Bought a hitch mounted bike rack and a 22X60 aluminum hitch rack for when I need to carry stuff I dont want inside. Added 9700 miles to the odometer since I bought it at the end of July.
No debadging for me. I'm proud of the Jeep name and that beast of mine deserves the 4X4 and Trail Rated badge. I have added Mopar roof racks, 430N radio, rear camera and auto air controller. Not sure what's next.
1. Tinted front windows (done by dealer to try to get more money from me)
2. RHB from wrecked 2011 (thanks ebay)
3. Auto climate control (thanks wife and justforjeeps)
4. Rear cargo mudder mat (thanks mom and justforjeeps)
5. Chrome 18" wrangler wheels and Dueller HT tires
6. Mopar slush mats (had to remove hold-down clips from passengers side)
7. Silverstar Ultras for low beam bulbs
8. Red painted calipers (boy racer in me coming out)
9. Mopar stainless pedals (ebay again)
Thinking about:
1. Leather seat covers with heaters
2. Overhead console with homelink (need to do a junkyard crawl)
3. OEM HIDs
4. Chrome exhaust tip (more boy racer I guess)
Thinking about doing the interior LEDs and wanted to know which lights exactly you changed. Are the bulbs you linked to good for all internal lighting or are they only for the reading/map lights on the front overhead?
Since I have last logged in here:
- I moved to a new place, so I loaded up mostly everything in the WK2 and made a few trips back and forth, eventually resulting in some damage to the rear bumper that occurred when loading the la-z-boy
- Backed into a fence post, damaging the passenger's side rear bumper (I get into the habit of ignoring ParkSense). Filled it in with a tube of touch-up paint, barely noticeable, will eventually get an estimate
- Someone did a hit-and-run on me, in the parking ramp of an insurance company, nonetheless. Damage to the passenger's side front bumper, mostly paint and clear coat. Buffed right out, but there are still abrasions
- Hand-washed the WK2 for the first time today. Noticed a ton of rail dust! I will have to clay-bar it once it gets a little nicer out and I have time to kill. I've never clay-barred anything before, so it will be an adventure
- And got several compliments on my WK2! Including the deputy emergency management director, who is apparently a Jeep freak, and also by the receptionist at my new vet's office.
It's been a rough week! Once things start to settle down after moving I'll get working on these. I'm getting two-way radios installed next Monday, it's been two months without them so I can barely wait.
