Question Stolen part off my GC....boooo

Any parts gurus on here know what part number to replace this stolen part off my 2014 Summit (stock 20" wheels for a 2014 Summit)....I am assuming it was stolen as I haven't been off roading and the carwashes here aren't THAT bad! It is the center hub cap thing that says "Jeep" on it.

Much thanks...

Re: Stolen part off my GC....boooo

That part is next to impossible to take off from the outside of the wheel.
Chances are it wasn't secured properly and it popped off over time.

Do you know if it just pops in (with a rubber mallet?) or does it screw on?

+1. Probably popped off on its own.

The Gen-I Durango centercaps were notorious for this.. most of us in the DOC put a couple little dabs of silicone caulk on the inner lip of the cap to hold it in (but not enough to make it impossible to pop out for a wheel balance..)

A few months back I did have the front half axles replaced and they had to balance the tire then....so perhaps they didn't secure it at that time.

They will come off with a small flathead pretty easily and cleanly. I changed mine out to the SRT caps without removing the wheels.

They have a circular spring that fits on the back of them that presses some plastic tabs on the back into a recess in the rim. They just pop in and out under the spring tension. You can push them into place with your hand.

I have replaced 2 so far on my 2013 altitude. they are plastic, and they were probably damaged when you had your service done. you need to give the dealer your vin# and thy will order the correct part. there are many different part numbers for different models. I paid $22 each, and bought 2 spares and have 1 left. no rubber hammer needed, just push on with slight hand pressure. I put a light coating of white grease on the beveled edge so it pops right on.

I've seen them stolen a lot too, depends where you are. Park in downtown Chicago for more than a few hours and you may see them missing, they can sell them for a quick 10 bucks or so in some parts of the city. I had a buddy park outside in a bad part of town overnight and the exhaust manifold was gone in the am!
