Stone chips and permanent road rash: do you have them/it, and if so where?

I'm trying to figure out the most vulnerable parts of the WK2 when it comes to stone chips and road rash.

(Think I have enough multiple-choice poll options? If on the off-chance I missed an area please feel free to share.)

Front bumper only for me. I touched them up with Mopar touch up paint.

The Mopar air deflector saves the hood and the mud guards save the rocker panels/doors/arches.

Cool. How's the Mopar touch up paint look, and how noticeable is it, can I ask? I've also heard good things about Dr. ColorChip...

The mud flaps are a good idea. I've considered it but just wasn't sure how well they actually worked, and I'm not sure if I'll like the way they look or not (guess there's only one way to find out).

EDIT: I'm looking at some pictures again. They look okay on the front, not sure about the back. I wonder if it'd look weird though to just have them on the front... I would imagine that for preventing chips and road rash the rear ones are probably much less necessary.)

The Mopar touch up paint matches up pretty good.

I like the protection of the Mopar mud guards, but they aren't flexible at all and after 2 years have taken quite a beating. I'm now looking at getting rally style mud flaps.

There are so many variables that contribute to the kind of damage that may occur. From quality of roads, winter salt/sand use, highway driving, tailgating etc.

True, however I figure this poll might give an idea of the most vulnerable areas (for those looking to install a paint protection film / clear bra for protection in the future for example).

I am definitely glad that the lower rocker panels are unpainted plastic because mine are really chipped up from a very small amount of winter driving..and that's with mudlfaps..I couldn't imagine how bad they would be if I didn't have flaps on it..winter is so harsh on vehicles..

Do you have the MOPAR/Jeep-branded mudflaps?

Is there any touch-up paint (MOPAR or non-MOPAR) available for the black plastic moldings on the exterior of the JEEP GC? Or, how can I remove scuffs/scratches on these moldings?

Most of my driving is on the highway. I'm really glad I had the clear bra put on the front bumper & hood. The plastic trim around the wheel wells is a big plus too, as its saved a lot of paint chips. I think the painted wheel well edges on the SRT & the '14's will get chipped a lot in our climate (winter sand & salt).

I've never found a good quick repair for scuffed or scratched unpainted plastic moldings. A major repair is sanding down the damaged area & priming & painting all the moldings, but you run the risk of the paint peeling & chipping. There are plastic waxes & preservative products on the market that will darken the unpainted plastic surface & blend in small scuffs & scratches, but you will still be able to see the large ones. Believe it or not, peanut butter works good to remove wax residue & dirt from unpainted moldings. It also darkens the surface & hides some of the small scuffs & scratches.

In the past, when I had major chip/scuff damage to plastic trim, I've replaced the trim with new parts.
