Re: Summit model - good price?

I'd be more than "a little suspect" if it is not certified.

Re: Summit model - good price?

Do you like the color of the interior even?

2013 Overland Summit will be offered with a black interior. Personally, I don't like the color saddle in pictures but when I saw one up close thought it looked great, still don't know if I could live with that color in my own vehicle for several years or not. I think the Mineral Gray Overland Summit with the saddle interior looks really good though. I don't know if I trust buying it with 8,000 miles on it. Maybe ask lots of questions and see if you can test it overnight.

Re: Summit model - good price?

It's got the factory warranty so I don't think if it was certified it would add anything other than higher cost.

Re: Summit model - good price?

I have the mineral gray summit. Its not orange in person by any means. Even when I take pictures of mine it comes out looking like a basket ball. Dont know why, but far from orange in person!! Everyone that gets in it loves it!!

If it comes with a full warranty then what's the problem?

Re: Summit model - good price?

You should be able to get a 2012 overland loaded for around $37-38K in July. I would wait for the end of year deals before buying a used summit.

Re: Summit model - good price?

It costs the dealer money to certify a vehicle. Given that Chrysler's CPO program is a step above pointless, it doesn't surprise me they'd not bother with the certification.

I don't think the price is bad, especially if its not a 2wd v6. The Summit interior is nice looking, but some people may not care for it. I liked the seats, but the dash was more than I wanted in saddle. Admittedly, when I drove a Summit, the dash stopped bothering me. But it's all personal tastes really.

I kinda liked that the Summit was the only model that came with the saddle top parts, and that they only came that way. Sort of made them more special than just an Overland with the ACC and Chrome package.

I don't see many other used cars right now so if I am getting a car this week and go new, the best my dealer can do is $43,500 which is 1% under invoice for a v8 4x4 overland. how are others claiming to get under $40k?
You don't know how much money they came down on their price to sell it.

There should be at least an extra $1000 bonus cash back to you on top of that bringing it down to $42,500.

How do you get $37-38k?

BTW, I took my '04 Overland to a jeep dealer and carmax for potential trade-in yesterday to see what they'd give me for it and turned them both down.

i was planning to go buy a used car and trade-in mine at another jeep dealer 200mi away but now my jeep has a check engine light! coincidence or did the dealer do something?

it is the P0455 code which is a large evap leak (could be a cut hose that lets evap gas leak and throws the trouble code). I had this issue about 6mths ago and they had to replace 2 small pieces of hose. Seems pretty suspect. The only thing I've done in past week is wash my car and get it appraised at dealer. F!

USAA (or truecar.com) pricing with incentives. You should never pay sticker so it is the optimum price paid (normal about $3-4K off, end of year $4-5K off) plus incentives. I was able to get around $7,500 off last summer (straight from the USAA website).
