Summit Off Road

The 14' Summit has really grown on me, especially after looking at a Summit and Overland side by side the other day.

On the Summit, can you still remove the lower front facia fro off roading? Can I still add front tow hooks to the Summit?

The sale person was stumped on this.

Maybe he wants to wheel his 48K GC...

I'm not sure of the fascia on the 14+ models but if a Laredo or limited can then an overland would be able to as well.

As for the tow hooks...you can most certainly add those to an Overland.

Re: Summit Off Road

Tow hooks come standard on the Overland, not sure if you can add them to the Summit or not.

Granite Crystal Metallic. May not have the Jeep, but I'll still drop in and keep up with the news.

Re: Summit Off Road

The front bumper is so significantly different than the Overland, I couldn't obviously see a place to add them. I asked my dealer to see if they could find out.

Re: Summit Off Road

The mounting point for the tow hooks should still be there behind the Summit fascia, but putting them on will likely require modification of the Summit body work in that are...cutting out for them, etc. If tow hooks and serious off-road is a priority, than the Overland may be a better choice.
