Question Summit owners: Purple wood? Windshield glare?

Sometimes a light colored dash will cause significant glare problems on the windshield, in some circumstances. Does this happen with the saddle colored dash?

In many pictures, the Summit's wood looks purple. Does it look purple-ish to you?

Also, does the Summit wood actually look like wood? The regular Overland wood clearly looks like wood, but I wonder if most people will think the Summit trim looks like black plastic or something. I know it is wood, just wondering if it looks like wood.

haven't found the black ash to look like plastic it is clearly the same color as the mercedes benz color just waiting to have my wheel replaced so it matches the dash

It is "ashy charcoal" looking in bright sun, no hint of purple. You also cannot see the wood grain as well and some might think of it as solid black lacquered trim. Also, when I first got the car, the dash did have some glare, and as with anything you get used to it and I don't even notice it anymore.

Re: Summit owners: Purple wood? Windshield glare?

Haven't noticed any glare and I've always had dark grey or near black dashboards in the past....so, at least for me in my experience in the bright Florida sun, it is a non-issue.

No purple tint with the wood either....the black olive wood is probably the best trim feature in the Summit..... I have to say, I am more satisfied with my Black Summit than any other vehicle I've owned.....I am a happy customer!

Re: Summit owners: Purple wood? Windshield glare?

The 2011 at my dealer had a purple hue to it in direct sun.
