Summit Saddle Color Matching

Still waiting for my summit to arrive but decided to visit one of the local dealerships to see if they had any in stock yet so i could get a sneak peek. To my surprise they did - a mineral gray one. so up to now i had ordered this vehicle site unseen - color, interior, everything.

I was pleased with the mineral gray (although it actually seemed to have some green in it in the sunset). the saddle seats are awesome (like everyone says they are way better in person). but my biggest surprise is the upper dash/door trim and the seats didn't match AT ALL. The seats were a more textured/darker finish and the dash and doors were almost orange.

My guess is that this was an early production model (it had the 430N) and maybe this is an issue that has been worked out by now, but have any of you who have seen other summits or taken delivery of yours (Dan JGC I'm talking to you!) noticed this before or was this a one time issue?

i've attached a photo of the interior (sorry it is from my iPhone so the picture quality isn't great) and also 2 of the exterior since I haven't seen a summit with chrome side bars posted yet (not a fan IMO).

I have seen several Summits and also Overlands with Saddle interior....note the Overland has the lower door panels in saddle as in your photo (just not the area above the wood trim).

I have never noticed that they did not match the seats...and I would have noticed...that photo certainly makes it look like it is two different colors...and that wouldn't be acceptable to me.

thanks for the quick response - i thought surely this would have been mentioned before. it was almost like they came from two different suppliers they were so far off. the picture doesn't do it justice. glad to hear that i have a chance that mine will match better... now the wait is killing me...

I'm not arguing, but are you sure what you saw in the lot wasn't an overland (non summit) charcoal color w/saddle?

I could very well be totally color blind and do apologize in advance if incorrect here, but I've seen a few M. Grey's live...and your pic looks darker. Maybe the light was different. Anyway, my top 2 choices are mineral grey and brilliant black. I bought black and love it but if they screwed up and M. Grey showed up at the dealer. I'd still be pumped up. Re: your opinion of the non-matching dash/door trim and seats, I have not seen this in the wild w/the WK2's I've seen (M. Grey or otherwise), but others may have seen different.

^^^ I think the camera colors are off.....that is a Summit interior since has upper saddle......so must be Mineral Gray exterior (just bad lighting / camera color balance). I agree that the photo color looks way off....

We too, noticed the color difference on a Summit delivered to our closest dealer around February 15. Mineral Gray, too.

The upper door's leather didn't match the door's armrest . . . I'd noticed that it looked that way in a few of the random videos I'd replayed a few hundred times on YouTube (obsessed while waiting!), so that was the first thing I checked.

@ Dan JGC : What a forum member! not only does he highlight the upper saddle trim discrepancy, but also teaches a lesson in basic lightroom (photo) technique. Unbelievable Jeep member...you are making a name for yourself, sir. Light changes everything, good catch on the upper saddle comment...it had to be a Mineral Grey, my bad.
