Won't most cars do that? My wife's Nissan does it. Heck my old Yukon might do it, I don't remember. I don't find that nearly as useful as I did the close-everything-up feature. It was really nice being able to button the car up without having to get in and start it.

I think only German cars have (had?) that feature. Maybe they really are smarter than we are.

No I don't think most American cars do that. My 03 Nissan 350Z did it up and down with a long hold on the lock and unlock buttons.... I find it ridiculous that a $70,000 SUV doesn't have that feature.

Also as far as sunroofs go, mine leaked a little bit of water today, I'm freakin so mad. This is why given the choice I would prefer no sunroof

Re: Sunroof Usefullness?

I like the remote controlled window open and close feature. Hondas have always had that. The only thing that I do not like is that it controls the sunroof as well. I hate that!! Why open the sunroof and let sunlight blast right into the interior when you just want to get a breeze through there? Anyway, just one of my pet peeves. Either way the Grand Cherokee doesn't do it anyway.

As far as the sunroof in general and back to the OP's question. I personally love them! It adds a nice touch and ambience to the interior. Lightens things up if you want it, or keeps it closed as if you didn't even have one. It adds nice ventilation, or gives a great view of everything above! One thing I saw a lot of guys mention that I don't really agree with is they say having it open adds a lot of road noise. I don't think thats the case. It adds noise sure, but its not really road noise. You hear the window go bu thats for sure, but even that is minimal because of the deflector that goes up. I think they are great!

Eeek. Double check all drains are clear. That is the most common reason why they end up leaking.

Re: Sunroof Usefullness?

In the case of the panoramic roof, i think it adds a ton to the interior of th evehicle. Allowing light in to the cabin makes it feel super open and not cavernous.

When temps are below 70F here in NC my sunroof shade is almost never closed. The wind noise is minimal when in vent position. And when open its a combination of window position to be comfortable , even on the highway its comfortable. I will not that my sunroof is tinted with 90% Crystalline Tint to cut down on heat.

All in all I feel it makes the cabin spectacular with all that light coming in from above.

I'm not sure how to do that, I have some research to do this evening. Hopefully the rain stops

Re: Sunroof Usefullness?

One thing to keep in mind, without the pano sunroof you can't get an ejection seat, not oem nor aftermarket.

Altho it is called a pano roof, that is somewhat false advertising when it comes to selection of an ejection seat. When the roof opens, only the small front section opens--the rear section then becomes two layers of heavy glass that would impede upward movement. Although this may be OK for unwanted passengers, it could sort of give you an Excedrin headache if the angle of tilt on the ejection seat is a tad off.

Unless I'm mistaken, the ejection seat feature deletes the pano roof and adds the T-Top open roof feature:

Re: Sunroof Usefullness?

My JGC Limited is the first I have owned with a sunroof. It is almost always open. Sunny day down to freezing but typically 40 and above I will run it open. Wanted a Wrangler type Jeep originally so I could open it up in summer, but summers are pretty short here so I went with the JGC running all the windows and sunroof down. As far as road noise, that is what the volume control on the radio is for.

What's really cool is opening the sunroof during a blizzard and watching the snowflakes whiz by.

You are more adventurous than I am. I would only open the shade.
