Re: Surveys From Chrysler

Ever since getting the vehicle on February 4th, I've received about two calls from the dealer asking how everything was. About two from Chrysler with one of them being a survey from some poor guy having trouble reading his lines. I gave him a break since he sounded like some young kid working nights.

I also received a couple of follow-up e-mails from dealer and company with follow-ups and a survey from the company. Then came my feedback about their "off-road" package. First the automated response and then the we're sorry blah, blah, blah. Another case closed response.

I mentioned the "off-road" package thing again today on the survey "Please help us design your next car" survey I got yesterday.

Re: Surveys From Chrysler

I got an email asking me to take a survey. When I clicked on the link, it said the site was undergoing maintenance and was unavailable. It sent a shiver down my spine. Apparently Chrysler didn't use the site with an extended warranty...

Jeepeej - I'll be right behind you on the "off-road" package thing. I'm hoping that that is my only beef with the Jeep and that everything else is wonderful.

So far the only real gripe I have are the tires. Small things like fit and finish of the steering wheel spokes being rough where you would put your fingers, the quality of the DVD system along with the lack of channels and bad placement of the monitor etc. are what I consider to be minor.

Re: Surveys From Chrysler

I received the email last week with the link to the survey asking about any problems or issues we might have had and I filled that out.

I also got a phone call a couple of weeks ago from someone who claimed to be from Jeep corporate to ask about my experience at the first dealer that I went to, which was the closest dealer to our home, that I didn't end up buying from. She askied if I had ended up purchasing from them and I said no, and then she started asking a lot of questions on what they could have done differently and so I told them the truth, if they hadn't treated me and my wife like we were idiots and hadn't lied to us several times then they probably would have gotten our business.

We weren't even in the market for a new vehicle at the time, but we received a letter in the mail from the local dealer saying that they were having a "Special Event" on the following Saturday, and that they would have over 200 new Chrysler and Jeep vehicles on their lot and that they had 0% financing for 5 years and that they wanted to give me over $21,500.00 in trade for my 2008 Wrangler. When we got there right at the time that they opened their doors that Saturday morning, they only had 85 new vehicles on the lot, the 0% financing was only available on leftover 2010 Liberty's and minivans, and they only had one 2010 Liberty on the lot and no 2010 minivans, and then they looked at my Wrangler and only offered me $18,000.00 in trade. I called them on their lies and they made up excuses and pointed to the fine print on the bottom of the back page of the letter and we walked out, but not before we had gone for a test drive in a new 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland, and we knew that we wanted one. It took us a few weeks and visits to half a dozen more dealers, but we finally found the Overland that we wanted at a dealer that treated us with respect and gave us their best bottom line number up front without any of the song and dance of the salesman running back to the sales manager over and over like we got from most of the other dealers. There was one other dealer we found along the way that treated us well and were willing to find an Overland in the color we wanted with the options we wanted, but they didn't have any Overlands left in stock and they couldn't get any other dealers to trade with them if they couldn't trade one back. So out of 7 dealers that we tried to deal with, only 2 were not "sleaze balls", as they say in south Philly.

I got that done for free by AAA. I wonder how many people did they screw over with that?

Re: Surveys From Chrysler

I got a phone call from Chrysler last night with a survey, and I gave the dealer I purchased from high marks - they were truly great to deal with.

They did ask if I had considered buying elsewhere, and why I chose not to use the original dealer, and I was honest:

The first dealer refused Chrysler Affiliate pricing on the Summit that they had on the showroom floor (Brilliant Black Summit/V8/Chrome), and also insisted on a $2500 'Market Adjustment'. They assured me that they 'might' be willing to take the Affiliate pricing, once they had more Summits on the lot, and that they would not let the Market Adjustment (which I refuse to pay) stand in the way of making a deal - but we would have to 'discuss' with the GM once we they had the vehicle that I wanted.

The dealer I purchased from did not even blink on Affiliate pricing, and did not make an attempt at a Market Adjustment - That kind of straight up, honest approach gets my business every time.
I drove 25 miles out of my way to get better service, and will do it again for my next vehicle.

Re: Surveys From Chrysler

Has anyome received a Grand Cherokee survey from Strategic Vision via e-mail? If so, was it long and the questions worth answering?

I just received one from Strategic Vision today, and was coming here to see if it was legit before clicking.

ETA: Seems like it was legit. Took about ten minutes. Not ridiculously long, but longer than the initial buying survey from Chrysler. Asked what features you bought, what features you'd like, sliding scales for features in terms of importance when buying, etc.

Re: Surveys From Chrysler

I just got the Strategic Vision email yesterday and filled it out. It was longer than I expected, but I finished it so they'll hopefully consider my feedback when designing future models. The only thing I didn't like was certain questions asked for a first reason, a second reason and a third reason for not buying another model that I had considered, and you had to provide 3 reasons or it wouldn't let you continue the survey, and even though it had "Other" listed as a possible reasson, it didn't have a text field to let you tell them what that "Other" reason was.

Re: Surveys From Chrysler

I received the Strategic Vision survey and it maybe took 15 minutes; at the end it ask if I'd be willing to speak with someone or take another one and I said yes. About a week later I got another survey and it ask questions like how many miles a day I drive, what was my expected and actual fuel mileage, what options would I expect to see / desire (there were items for heated/cooled steering wheel; LEDs all around, front parking sensors, all around cameras, etc). They also asked what type of hauling, towing I do and how many times I drive "off road".

All in all I pretty much love everything about it but I listed a few items they could do better on in my opinion. I think the recessed seat belt latches in the rear seats are tough for kids; I'm not yet sold on the transmission; and the dealership experience leaves a little to be desired.

My last 2 cars were a Lexus and an Acura so you come to expect a superb dealership experience. I eventually ordered my Jeep at the 3rd dealership I visited b/c the first 2 were utterly worthless.

Re: Surveys From Chrysler

^^^ You sound like a very reasonable customer. I agree the dealership experience needs work...for some, a LOT of work.
