Suspension difference between 3.6 and Hemi?
I rented a '14 Limited with the V6 this weekend. Loved it. After dropping it off I went to the dealership and test drove an Overland Hemi and was surprised how different the ride quality was. The V6's steering was tighter, and the Hemi felt much more "floaty" as if the dampers were softer. It had more body lean in all directions, but it still held the road well in the curves. Neither had the air lift suspension. The V6 had 18" wheels, the Hemi 20". If anything, I would have thought the larger wheels would have had the opposite effect. I even took out another Overland Hemi with the air suspension to see if it felt different (same wheels & tires) but it rode identical to the first.
I've been trying to rack my brain as to what the difference might be. I'm sure the V8 weighs a little more than the V6, but other than that I'm shrugging my shoulders. Everything I've read says the Hemi and the V6 should have identical suspension, and I assume the Limited and the Overland are also the same. Anyone?
