Remember some of the winners of their car of the year.

2002- Ford Thunderbird
1995- Chrysler Cirrus
1991- Chevrolet Caprice
1988- Pontiac Grand Am

And so on. You can't convince me that those were the most worthy vehicles in those years, even if they were newer than some that were FAR superior. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then, but the MT Whatever of the Year is a joke.
LOL! I couldn't agree more!

Re: SUV of the Year?

+1 on the Grand Am, Chevy Vega also took the award back in the day, no slouch.

So where's the action? Per Scottie's OP, I'll even narrow the bet to MT 2011 SUV of the year. Come on now, I need to pay for some AT gear.

I have no insight or expectation Jeep will advertise, this rig is just worthy, period. That's why I'm buying one.

Note Wiki background on MT includes value in the ranking criteria.

Re: SUV of the Year?

It says that it adds towing capacity and an off-road course for the SUV of the year, in addition to the car stuff. Not many SUVs can match the WK2 in either of those categories when you throw the hemi in there! (Of course, they did have two Subaru vehicles and the Mazda Cx9 in the last three years, neither of which can tow or do much off-roading, so WTF?)

Re: SUV of the Year?

I tell you, the "competition" has made some UGLY models this year. I've seen the 2011 4runner, Highlander, and Honda Pilot on the roads, and they are UGLY!!! Don't know what those designers were thinking, but the WK2 is far sexier to me!!

Re: SUV of the Year?

I bet the Nissan Juke takes the crown..

Seriously, if the Jeep doesn't win it's because the Subby Outback is a WAY better SUV

Agreed.

Although even a blind squirrel can find a nut now and then, the squirrels at MT do seem to consistently be unable to find their nuts.
