For long commutes, no one is going to want to have to map out their route before hand so they can stop at a quick charge station. Love the electric vehicle concept and even implementation, but until the long range capabilities are perfected these vehicles are going to be used for mainly suburbanites
I live in Porsche Cayenne country ... they are EVERYWHERE here in showy Miami. No doubt the Tesla Model X will compete for that business for sure.

Three rows of seats...impressive.

Well that settles that then... Plus I gotta be one of the few people that have continuously owned a JGC as my main vehicle since the fall of 1992 when they first were made. Now that's loyalty! I can look but not touch right?

This thing is in no way shape or form an SUV, it is a Crossover, barely. Where the ground clearance? Tow? Besides AWD and people hauling what other "C/S"UV qualities does the Model X have? I know details not released yet

Actually, our JGC''s aren't SUV's either due to their unibody (no body on frame) design. Their ground clearance and other capabilities (medium tow) puts them so high in the Crossover class that everyone incorrectly calls them SUV's. The marketeers have won out on clouding the terms. Only the framers like Merc G's, Expeditions, Escalades, Tahoe's etc are truly SUV's.

I forgot why I got on this soapbox :0

I have the same feelings.

I'm not all that attracted to the Model X. Oh well, I'm nowhere near a Tesla dealer where I live and there probably won't ever be one here.

Me thinx he was pointing out the use of "dealers" as Tesla is direct with company owned "stores" instead of traditional dealers.

It's not semantics at all actually. He has pissed off the entire manufacturer and dealer universe by completely eliminating the dealer middle man. To get a Tesla you have to acquire direct from manufacturer via one of its stores.
