Well I am kind of unimpressed with it. The added cost to own the 5.7L isn't worth it. If you take that factor out of it when I would be totally cool with the HEMI

I'll definitely back you on this one. While I easily chose the 5.7 over the 3.6, its hardly the perfect setup. I was unimpressed with the 3.6 on my first test drive, and slightly less unimpressed with the 5.7. Its a great motor day-to-day, but again, its not a dream come true.

Re: Test drove a 2012 WK2 3.6.......

To my understanding the difference in power for let's say a 0-60 time between the two engines is about a second or so. That is not such a big difference in power if you think about it.

I test drove the HEMI and as a "passing traffic" Jeep, it's not bad. It's the torque I look at when considering power. The towing capability of the Hemi WK2 is far superior to that of the Penta.

Saying that it comes down to choice. I don't think that either SUV is a tortoise on the road considering it's size and weight. I think they hold up pretty well. I can't speak for the Penta as I only test drove the HEMI, but looking at the numbers I doubt the average driver will need more power than a Penta has to offer.

Now, it comes down to what you want. The HEMI to me provides more potential for modding for power and I'm simply a HEMI fan. I think both engines would do good for the average driver. Remember, neither one of these two were meant to be a "Performance" Jeep to take to the track, that is why the SRT8 was made.

I see the HEMI as more of the tower and the Penta as more of the average driver SUV. If you tow, you could do with a V6 but I'd rather opt with the Hemi cause chances are you may sometimes need to tow more weight than usual and if you have the Penta you might regret it down the line. Then again, it all depends on what you tow.

Speed wise, I don't think either is stunningly fast but considering average road driving I don't think either is super slow. I don't race on the streets so maybe that's why and I don't have any plans to take a HEMI to the track. This might explain why I think either engine would suffice on the road. If I wanted something I could take out to the track or just blaze the roads with, I'd take out my Porsche 996 Cab.

Just note that this is all just my opinion. Don't need to take this as fact, I just feel that both engines are good if you get them for what you need to do. I feel they both tackle two different kinds of JEEP drivers.

Then why did you buy it?

I'm not talking about 1/4 mile speeds people. I'm talking about jumping into traffic. The Pentastar just doesn't have the "get up and go" that I'm looking for.

When I bought my 3.7, I was like, "this is plenty of power". But just like anything else, you tend to outgrow it and want more. Look at all the 3.7 owners here looking for performance mods. Wishing there were more options available for tuning and CAI. I myself am one of them.

I did find a good combination of things that gave me that extra torque to bounce around in traffic when need be but I have plans to purchase a 2010 SRT WK in the near future.

None of you can argue that most 3.7 owners on here are looking for more power or maybe wishing they had considered the 4.7 given that it gets the same damn gas mileage.

That is all.

Re: Test drove a 2012 WK2 3.6.......

3.6 works fine for me. Decent gas mileage on regular gas. If you need to jack rabbit around someone in order to pass them, then it is an unsafe pass and you are being dangerous. I was hit on I-90 many years ago by someone doing that and I did a 360.

That is all.
That may mean they made the wrong choice. I was in the middle when I got my 6 cylinder 2000 Pathfinder. I was between a 6 and an 8. I opted for the 6 because I felt that I didn't really need it for towing at the time and that I didn't care too much about power in an SUV.

Till today I love that beast, even though it's a tortoise compared to the standard of cars that are around today. However, I'm still happy with it and no performance mods.

I think the performance mods are just people's desire to want more and more no matter what they chose.

Yes I wish I had a bit more power in the 6 cylinder pathfinder but I'd still be saying that about the 8 cylinder pathfinder. We will always WANT more. The question is do we NEED more?

What constitutes the need is simply what people use the SUV for. If you are fulfilling your needs then you made a good buy. If you can fulfill your needs AND wants, then you made a great buy!

I'm not trashing the penta or the hemi and don't take this as an attack, but I'm just trying to show my logic behind what I said. I'm sure for you the Penta is not what you will have in mind as a next purchase, and if the HEMI is what you want then go for it.

BTW I'm still waiting for my HEMI hehe Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Anyways, I just thought that maybe I'd clarify the logic behind what I was saying.

Re: Test drove a 2012 WK2 3.6.......

You're right. I liked the WK2. Very nice and comfortable on the inside. Very smooth ride which is to be expected from a GC. The engine just doesnt suit my needs.

You're right about "do we really need more". Lol.

Re: Test drove a 2012 WK2 3.6.......

Hehe yeah, I mean we all want more and more but sometimes I just kick back and think...do I really need this? If no then I think, do I really want it? If yes, I jump on it. I like fulfilling my wants but only if I can afford it and do that comfortably. That is why I opted for the V8 because in the future when I want more, I feel I can get more out of it and fulfill that want better with the HEMI. I'm sure that's exactly how you feel too and there's absolutely nothing wrong with feeling that way!

Oh no trust me I'm not insulted and definitely didn't feel you were trying to insult me. But thanks for the apology anyways, though it's not needed. I was aactually trying to be more clear about it because I know how some people may feel about the new WK2 owners, and I'm definitely not trying to preach. However, I am a very outspoken person (in other words I type a lot and usually have a lot to say which some people may take negatively even though i don't mean any harm by it lol).

I feel exactly how you do for the V6, to me it's just not what I want. Though, considering others it may be what they need and what some may want.

So you are claiming that yours is faster, you have even posted a link to a WK2 going down the track, but where is your video proving that yours is faster.

Anyone can make claims on the internet, but prove to all of us with a video what yours runs in the 1/4 mile
