Can someone confirm there is a SD Card reader?

I would hate to have to stream using B/T the entire time. That's as bad of an idea as the CD player placement.

That's already been approved. There's an SD card slot and it can read up to 32 gig cards for music. I've already placed an order for our music and will have songs loaded and ready for our first test drive.

Re: The Official "I want to remove my '14 CD Player" thread

That was one of the many things I liked about my 2011 when I purchased it, was that I got my center console back. My previous vehicle had the CD player in same place as the new 14's. Why did they change it?

Re: The Official "I want to remove my '14 CD Player" thread

I will give anyone my full console without the CD player including trim out of my 2012 for their dash, 8.4" radio, bezel and all of the cool options the 2014 has. Too far fetched but, I dream big. Makes me wish I could go back in time and wait. "14's" are sooo nice.

Hummm, ok. Not sure how that would have to suck. So lets see you have the option of putting music on a USB drive, listen to AM/FM/XM, Bluetooth stream your own music or Pandora. I guess I just fail to see how that would be "having to use Bluetooth all the time"?
I understand there are people that like to use the good old CD's and cassettes, but even without the CD player there are plenty of other sources to listen to besides streaming.

CDs are becoming obsolete, they only offer this as an option who want a CD player really, really, really bad. With Ipod integration, Bluetooth streaming, aux input, Slacker, Pandora, SiriusXM, AM/FM/HD, SD card, etc. the Jeep has more than enough entertainment choices without the CD player.

My guess is that with the next refresh, CDs wont even be offered.

Re: The Official "I want to remove my '14 CD Player" thread

I just use the aux jack. Also have an USB CD/DVD for my Tablet so if I really need to go that way...

BTW for $4 at Bigge Lottes you can buy a SD->USB adapter.

For my next refresh I just want an amp, speakers, and an aux jack.

As a cd player only I would never purchase it...as a Bluray / dvd for the rear entertainment option (i know late availability) as opposed to having to hang portable players or tablets off the headrests that's a different kettle of fish.

Think Outside !- No Box Required.

Re: The Official "I want to remove my '14 CD Player" thread

I showed my wife the preliminary picture of the center console and where the rear dvd system discs would go. She immediately said "no" to that option. Glad I could talk her out of it. For 1/4 of the price my 3 year old now has a much more portable iPad Mini with plenty of HD space for several movies and games.

Re: The Official "I want to remove my '14 CD Player" thread

Besides my last post, now that I am thinking about it, other than moving a bunch of junk around at my desk, I don't actually remember the last time I touched a CD in which I listened to music from it. Maybe 2 years ago? If I am in my car and I can't connect to my iPod or internet radio I usually somehow manage to listen to the crap that is still played on FM or just listen to nothing.

You would have thought they could at least use a slim drive instead of an old-school full-size drive.
