+1

In case of an accident, I just hope the seat belt tensioner works properly.
With that pinched/crushed panel, it may jam up and not tighten before impact.

With the help of a heat gun and a fire extinguisher(2 1/2" dia.) problem solved. May not be the cleanest looking of mods, but it's night and day difference as far as comfort!
Since it's your Jeep and you have to drive it and it works, I would say it's a good mod. When you sell it or trade it you can just swap out the plastic trim for a new one.
Im surprised at all the bashing you got over this.

Good on ya mate. Mob mentality, easy to pile on if your in the majority. No hurt feelings here though, I love the end result(utility) of it. But the wife will probably side with the mob here when she sees it.

If it makes you happy, congrats on the mod. Hope the wife has the same reaction. I'm 6'4, and can't say I've ever had an issue with the way my arm rests against the door... how far back is your seat tilted?? Enjoy.

I'm 6'2" and would think this would be an issue for many people. Seat back is not really reclined much and the seat itself is nowhere near all the way back. Dunno if MY 2014 is different from earlier years?
