Anyone have updates on rear opening sizes? I could always take a measuring tape to the dealer though.

Re: Thinking about 2014 GC - help needed

I would email a bunch of dealers and tell them what you are looking for and their best price. Let them know that you have other dealers working on numbers as well. That is how I found the best price at 6% under invoice. Let the dealers fight over your business. Even if you buy it elsewhere, you can still take it to your favorite dealer to get serviced, that is where the money is really made.

Re: Thinking about 2014 GC - help needed

After having rented a Limited V6 w/o the Quadra Lift and then immediately test driving one without, I noticed little to no difference in ride quality whatsoever.

Unless you're considering the Summit, you're only going to have one sound system choice. The upgraded Harmon Kardon system is only available on the Summit (and the SRT).

If it was just me the QL would not be needed but I have some passengers who would find it very helpful getting in and out.

Since you test drove 2 Jeeps that did not have QL, why would you expect tere to be a difference?

Re: Thinking about 2014 GC - help needed

QL came in handy for me last night. Went to a jazz concert in town and had to park in a field. When the show was over we got back to the Jeep and found that we were parked in, and would probably have to wait quite a while to get out. Watched a Toyota Camry try to pull out over a curb that looked to be at least 8 to 10 inches high. He scraped the hell out of his rockers, and banged his tailpipe pretty good, but got out to the street. I put the Jeep in OR1 and rolled right over the curb, no problem. City rock crawling! What fun!

Re: Thinking about 2014 GC - help needed

Quick question (I hope) - I am thinking of moving forward but to get the Chrysler affiliate pricing I have to wait 30 days, are the 2015s due soon or are they going to keep making 2014s for a few more months in case I want to order one.

They will be making 14s into next year.

Re: Thinking about 2014 GC - help needed

MY14 JGC will be available through mid-2014. This was an early release update, so it's a "long model year". In most cases you do not need to wait 30 days to take advantage of affiliate pricing, but it depends upon how you are obtaining it.

BTW, my previous ride was a 2006 Highlander Hybrid Limited. I loved the vehicle, the fuel economy was great and I only had 80K miles on it when I traded it for the Jeep a year ago, but I needed something that was able to handle a specific towing task. My 2012 Summit is actually my second Grand Cherokee...I had one many years ago; early 1990s I think, but don't recall the exact year...and I have no regrets buying this one. Well, outside of wishing I could have gotten the diesel engine that finally became orderable yesterday.

Re: Thinking about 2014 GC - help needed

Thanks for the responses. The dealers around here seem to want to push what they have on the lot or can find nearby instead of offering ordering but good to know it's an option.
