All of this is over a radio that won't play?

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

I'll tell you SnoFire, I definitely won't miss the schmucks at Chrysler Customer Care...or the lousy service I received at some of the Jeep dealerships in my area. I'm so done with Chrysler it's not even funny.

Not to sway you to the "dark side"...

...but I'm LOVING my new Mercedes Benz C300 Sport 4Matic, and the excellent service I've received of late. I picked up my new car last week and had to stop back at the dealership to get my state registration & inspection sticker. Drove the car up to one of the three service doors, a rep signaled me to drive in..."What can I do for you Sir?" he asks, I tell him why I'm there, I give him the FOB, he then walks me over to the waiting area in the adjacent room. Free coffee, juice, pastries at "The Bar"...nice TV area, even a nail salon for the women.

30 minutes later a rep comes over to me and tells me that my car is all set...all washed with tire shine applied as well...all free of course. Now that's service!

That's a sharp car👍🏻I wish you good luck with it. I'm fortunate to have actually found a good Jeep dealership with similar amenities. No nail salon though.

That thing would SUCK for hunting. COMPLETELY different target market than JGC. Enjoy it though. Nothing wrong with a nice German Sedan if it meets your needs...though I'd prefer a BMW myself!!

Bilt - The radio would play but other stuff was wrong

GCLimited - Sharp car but not my cup of tea. You got it cushy now with that luxury but just think that what you think is free cost you somewhere. We get free cookies, coffee, TV, shuttle rides! Every time I take the vehicle in it gets washed.

Talking with the service adviser, I'm now a EVP or whatever (VIP) in their system for the life of the vehicle. He thought it was something I signed up for but told him all I did was call and open a STAR case with customer service and now it does it.

So are you looking to get the entire U-Connect 8.4 unit replaced?

I don't believe you can replace it in pieces. The whole unit pops out of the dash and the replacement pops in.

Each to their own; but I get a beautiful waiting room, all the free coffee I need, free wifi in my dealership too; large tv is always on though if you're not into sports.... No car wash, but that's a good thing and something I prefer to do myself.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

A lot of things could persuade me in the direction of purchasing a given brand of vehicle. However, if the service department waiting room has a nail salon or not isn't one of them.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

Both jeep dealers near me have crappy waiting rooms, no amenities and no car wash. In fact, they have the worst service department I have ever been to.
