The dealership ultimately doesn't pay for the rental car either as it is covered by Chrysler under the factory warranty. So if the dealership refuses to give a loaner or arrange with a rental agency, yet the car is being taken in for warranty repairs, anyone should complain directly to Chrysler. Right then and there in the Service department, get on the phone with Chrysler. Might sour the relationship with that particular dealership but we cannot be victims twice over the same aggravating unreliability.
One of the things pointed out to me when I purchased my first Jeep was that the Chrysler standard warranty does not cover rental or loaners. That is why it is featured in the extended service plans. Chrysler may, on a case by case basis, offer a loaner/rental.

For years, and I haven't checked recently, the other US manufacturers specified in their warranty that they would provide a loaner if the vehicle needed to be kept overnight.

Where I used to live, most dealers used Enterprise. If they called you at the end of the day to say they were keeping the car, Enterprise would pick you up where ever you wanted and bring you to a car. It was then dropped off at the dealer when the repairs were complete.

If somebody can point to where the Chrysler warranty provides for a loaner, I wish they would post it. If true, that could force the dealers across the country to provide a vehicle.

You're right, it is.

At 184.5", The C300 is about the same length as a Dodge Dart, a BMW 3 Series, and an Audi A4.

Only 5" shorter than our WK2 Grand cherokees.

I purchased my '14 GC out of state because all 4 of my local Jeep dealers refused to come anywhere close to the deal I got on it. When it came time to find a dealership for warranty work, I chose the only one out of the 4 who offer a free loaner for as long as they have your vehicle. (I didn't purchase the extended warranty.) They're always busy at the loaner car desk, leading me to believe they're sucking warranty customers away from all the other dealers in the area just by implementing this simple strategy.

Length isn't everything Seriously though, I've thought about the c300 series and the 3 series from bmw too, but they're tiny. Not just length; height, everything. I'm a tall guy and I can't fit in those little things without my head scraping the roof. If there is a sunroof in there? Forget it. At least my Jeep fits me comfortably.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

Sorry about that, I thought the appointment was yesterday when it actually was this morning. So dropped off this morning around 7:30 and told them I would like it by 3-3:30 to look into the HVAC/Radio/Nav/Service Phone issue. 3:30 rolls around so I call the service dept and talk with the rep. He advises me they are running behind because the WiTech wasn't able to get online this morning and they now have it and are currently working on it (should only be about 30 more minutes). That's fine, I'll start making my way over to there and should be done when I get there. 5 minutes after I get there (it was being washed) the tech walks in and the service advisor, the tech, and I go over everything that was done. The adviser thinks the tech did a programming update to the radio to fix the HVAV/Nav/Radio/Service phone issue, which then the tech advises "No I didn't do a program update to the radio, I just recalibrated the HVAC system and that should be fine now." So wait, now I'm getting 2 different stores on what actually was fixed. Car was there for 8hrs to only have the HVAC calibrated. I said "ok, well we will see what happens." With it being 80 degrees today, I can't really test out the HVAC on if it was fixed and haven't really had the NAV issue since I did a factory restore a few days ago (still got the Service Phone since the factory restore just not in the past 2 days). With tomorrow's temperatures in the 60's, I'll test out the HVAC and see if it is fixed. If any of the issues comes back (which I have a feeling they will), I'll be placing the call to customer care to open a case. I'm just glad the tech was there to basically tell the adviser that he didn't do all that he thought they did as I already have the latest firmware (14.25).

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

So today when riding around looking at Temporary housing (sold our home and building new) I turn on the navigation and it is showing that I'm 10 miles from where I am and driving on the lake. I check the time on the unit and it is 13 minutes behind and shortly after the Service 911 phone comes on. I am currently on the phone with Jeep Customer Care talking to a Case Manager who is calling the dealership to get this in to be looked at. He stated most likely I will have to have the radio changed out. Let's see how long this take and if it actually fixes the issue.

Jeeps are fun, and that's why you have it.

But nobody said it was going to be easy.

Good Luck!

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

It actually got comical on the phone as the service manager said said that he was also having issues with him vehicle and the reason the GPS was off was not cuz of the vehicle itself but that the satelites were having issues (how dumb does he think I am??). He stated they would work on that but when the Case Manager asked what they would do to fix the Service 911 issue, the manager stated they would do whatever STAR wanted him to do as long as they pay him for it and keep there sh*t straight. My guess is that they don't have a great relationship and keep changing things on dealers. About 5 minutes after the call the Service Manager called back and asked for my SirusXM ID so he could get the ball rolling on this so they could be ready for next week when I bring it in again. He was going to call STAR before hand and give them that information and if a new radio needed to be ordered then hopefully it would be here by then. The Case Manager figures that is what is needed to fix the issues with the UConnect system...Oh how fun!!

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

I have the 2014 overland with a July build and the V8 and have kept up with all TSBs and any recalls and I haven't had any issues that would make me want a buy back from Chrysler. I just had a recall done last week and had the frame in the panoramic roof replaced because of the noise and them finding that it was out of spec. Service guys at the jeep dealership I use are good to go and are not dismissive. The service writers tend to know you who you come in with TSBs printed out already and you kinda know all the jargon. I bring my own synthetic oil and filters for the oil change and they charge 7.00 bucks for its disposal. Overall I have been pretty pleased with the product thus far and I've had at least 6 jeeps prior to this one. It's defiantly crazy that some members have had a lot of issues with their jeeps and hopefully customer service has been accommodating as they have been with me when it was needed.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

This morning I go to leave in the car and the GPS is working fine now and the clock is now correct. WTF!!! Sad part is I have a feeling that everything will be working when I bring it to the dealership next week that they won't think anything is wrong with it. Hopefully they just swap the radio out and be done with it.

Oh ya...The temp outside was 52 Degrees, Temp in car was set on AUTO at 68, and it was still blowing cool air out the front vents.
