Yes i'd say the biggest issue isn't so much what's been happening to your car rather the customer service you have been getting. Federal government needs to add more consumer friendly laws to remedy this kind of stuff. Something like if the car spends more then 30 days at the dealership for repair work the consumer is entitled to a 100% refund. This will quickly cause the dealerships to put more pressure on the manufacturers to have a better stock system and weed out the inefficient dealerships.

Their's about 10 Jeep dealers in my general vicinity and only 3 of them I even consider doing any sort of business with. 30% is pretty sad.

I dream one day everyone goes the Tesla routes and drop the dealerships all together. For the most part these dealerships are third generation+ and owned by complete idiots that never even really worked at the dealership itself.

Yeah and the thing that continues to annoy me is that we KNOW there are enough parts out there as they continue to pump out new vehicles. They drag there feet on getting them where they need to be for repairs, but have no problem getting them to the plant for new Jeeps.

I got a call from Jeep a year ago saying they were going to fix that problem. I've seen zero progress.

NO NO NO! The last thing we need is more federal government involved in our lives. They are already encroaching in areas they have no legal right to be involved in.

NY was one of the first states to have a lemon law. The first disclaimer that we saw was Auto ads that included MSRP and said "Except NY". There was an additional charge to cover lemon law expenses. Now it's built into all prices because lemon laws are everywhere. That's enough! If these were federal laws we would probably pay even more because the feds will find a way to put some of that money in it's pockets.

We need to start standing on our own two feet, or going back to it.

I agree. If they can get the parts to the plant to get them built then they should have extra to send out to dealerships to get these replaced. I had to reboot the radio this morning because it wasn't responding to screen taps or volume from the steering wheel or the knob. I just want the damn thing fixed and over this.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

I don't understand why people think that getting a "lemon", (if that's what you want to call it), has anything to do with brands? There isn't a brand out there that doesn't produce them. One could argue one produces more than another, but it isn't enough to make a difference to swing the odds in the favor of the buyer, by changing the brand of vehicle you purchase. Especially with the big 3.

When I bought my Jeep, there was no telling what kind of car I would be getting problem wise. You make your choice, then hope and pray you, "get a good one". Be it GM, Ford, or Chrysler. Close your eyes, throw the dart, and buy it. All the rest is pure luck, and not a damn thing else.

If you ever have a lemon you'll be thankful for the lemon law. I just went through it. In fact I'm meeting with an ISG rep this morning to sign the final paper work. Although I didn't go full lemon law the threat of using it was enough to get Chrysler to finally replace my SRT. it was in the shop for 52 days and no less than 8 trips into the dealer. My problems started at 250 miles on the odometer. Without the lemon law I'd be stuck with a flawed vehicle while attorneys battled it out at a huge cost to me. I'm pro lemon law at this point.

IMHO

I'm not against state lemon laws. When I said "that's enough", that is what I meant. I am against that domed cesspool in Washington getting involved. They should be securing the country not getting involved in retail.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

Yesterday afternoon I got a call from the dealership stating that they received the radio and have it scheduled to have it installed next week Wednesday, should take about 1 1/2 hrs. Hopefully this fixes everything..

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

While we're on the subject of radios, I've got a question. I have the U-Connect 8.4 option. If you press the volume control knob it "mutes" the radio. But does it actually turn it off? I have looked, but I can't find any "off" control for the radio other than the "mute" button. Is there one? Or is the radio "on" all the time? I'm not thrilled to have the radio turn on every time I start the vehicle. I couldn't find anything in "settings" for this.

Re: Thinking of dropping my Jeep

Mute is the effective off button. It should still be muted when you restart the vehicle. At least mine is.
