Thinking of trading 12 Laredo X for 12 Overland

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post. I currently have a 2012 Laredo X with 50K miles that I love. Saw a 2012 Overland with 34K miles. I can basically get the Overland by trading in my Laredo and keeping the same monthly payments (add 2 years of payments on end). I love my Laredo and only put about 5 miles a day on it (I take train to work) and want to keep it forever as I do not like the new 2014 plus models. Wondering if it's a good idea to grab this overland with 15K less miles on it (and a V8 engine). Any input as to the differences in how the two cars handle or if this is a good idea? I'm aware of all the bells/whistles in the Overland versus the Laredo. BTW, my wife has a 2013 Limited V8 with 20K miles.

Thanks.

an overland V8 is going to hold value much better than a laredo will. How much are they offering for the overland vs what are they offering you for your laredo

Re: Thinking of trading 12 Laredo X for 12 Overland

Id say stick with the Laredo. You are extending your repayment which is not worth it. By which you sell in a years time the overland becomes peanuts, not saying the Laredo won't but at least you have finished paying for it. It seem your wife has a jeep, take it for a spin the days you feel like a v8.

I traded in my 2012 4x4 Overland with V8 2 months ago with 46,500 miles on it and got $29,000 for it, in Excellent condition.

I for one am all about upgrading, so in that sense I say heck yeah do it. However, I know we all have our own opinions and such, but I gotta ask, what is it that you do not like about the 2014+ models? I have had both and cant think of a single thing I liked more on my 2012 Overland.

I think they ride completely different...almost like a car and not a truck. Was really disappointed as I like they way they look. I"m actually not even sure I want to get the Overland. Didn't feel as nimble as my Laredo, felt very heavy when driving. The V8 is nice, however. Thanks.

What do you use it for? Percentage off-road?

That is absolutely true. I have found that exact same thing going from 2012 V6, to 2014 V8, to 2015 V6. My 2014 V8 Summit felt like driving around in a tank. Infact, after the first 5 minutes of test driving my 2015 V6 I couldn't believe how different it felt. Much lighter feeling, more nimble, best way to describe it was like I was driving a car compared to an SUV. So with that said maybe it is a better idea to just hold onto your Laredo as it sounds like you really like it.

Hardly any off road. Mostly highway/suburb driving.

Wait another year.

The V8 is at the inspection point for the spark plugs.

I think the lighter feeling you are noticing is because the V6 has electric power steering which gives it a lighter feel.
