MOF, don't know if you picked one, but if you are close to Addison, Royal Coach does excellent work, you'll never know it happened, I've had work done there

I going to respectfully disagree. As someone who's lived inside and in surrounding areas of the City of Chicago it's better to have then to have not. These crooks are not the smartest people in the world and many won't even notice the cam where it's mounted.

In an odd turn of events my cam is now only recording static. Late last week we had some high temps and after 3+ years of use I think the lens finally gave up. I added a second commitment for the Blackvue 2CH in the Massdrop group buy so now ill be able to monitor the front and rear of the Jeep.

Re: This is why you should invest in a dashcam

I have two cams: Thinkware F750 and Blackvue. First purchased the Thinkware but didn't like how it showed on the windshield so I got the Blackvue. Forgot to return the Thinkware on time and got stuck with it.

I never installed them on my MY15 since it was constantly in service and pending a Lemon exchange. As soon as my 17 Summit arrives, I will hardwire them in. I will use the Thinkware as an independent rear camera instead of the Blackvue 2 channel.

Off topic; I also have a Escort Passport 9500ci that I'm dying to install. Just hope the blindspot, adaptive cruise and other tech doesn't set off a bunch of false alarms.

It makes a great combination!! Been utilizing my 2CH for some time now. One time I parked at my local bakery shop. Someone came into the shop and said that a car hit a parked car and took off. It was the bakery owners car that got hit. I pulled my rear camera video (it was facing the lot) and we saw the car, car color, car type, and passenger. It ended up being a worker who worked in the same strip mall area. I downloaded the video for the bakery owner and sent it to him.

Definitely love the 2CH! Enjoy it when you get it!

Re: This is why you should invest in a dashcam

I have the rear channel, but never installed. Does anyone have a link on how to remove the headliner with photos from front to rear in order to do a clean install?

Re: This is why you should invest in a dashcam

Finally got inspired to install my rear camera. A little tugging and pulling on the rubber lining around the doors to insert the wiring.

Still have to fix the rear part to tuck inside the rubber grommet. But another time.

Street Guardian SG9665gc installed - better optics than the Blackvue- great little camera- tucks up nicely below rear view mirror. All wires in the rear view mirror housing - gps gets great signal while being behind side pillar trim

No- goes off after 30 sec. It's a setting that can be adjusted as well
